Goto a mechanic specializing in Honda citys.Give a couple of hundred bucks and take him with you to the dealer.
Its to be expected.they cant make a brouhaha over that.
However, if they do, it points you in the correct direction--->OUT!
Totally makes sense. I just called them and said last price 2.4L with new windshield. Looks like chapter closed
Looking for more and considering Baleno also from True Value (for 6 months warranty). Budget still remains as around 2.25L.

After closing few more deals I might become better in bargaining.

Man, i really feel bad about the price disparities!!
I passed over a city 1.5 last year, 60k, going for, wait for it....1.7L.
I think the same vintage as one you've been checking out.
Isnt there some way you can drive down a car from delhi, and get it tranferred to hyderabad plates?

Baleno's are going for drop dead rates here, compared to any other city.

Anyway, cheerios, and happy hunting.

PS: Hard cash will give you additional discounts.Almost 10 k in some cases.

Guys, any help here? They are ready to reduce another 5k i.e. 2.35L. Is this price right? This is from a dealer and the approx. price valuation I saw at carwale is around 2.1L for similar spec car.

My friends in Delhi suggested the same and had been convincing to travel to Delhi and take it to Hyd. But 1.7L, phew! Even after re-registration and traveling charges, it may turn out cheap.
Infact, one of them said they can get me a Corolla in below 3L (tempting).

But, my own travel itself is a big concern :(

Get it checked with a mechanic please. I was just going through the car price thread. Some prices are Jaw Dropping (be any car). One definitely doesnt wanna get into that trap.
If the mechanic says "good" then really not bad for a 2005 Model.

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Guys tell me if the prices for both of these are fine ( will decide b/w auto and manual today )

1 - Honda civic - manual - 2007 - first owner - light blue - 55000km done - 6.3L

The only fishy bit - last service -> 1.5 years ago at 51000, the owner says was in the garage for 8 months since he was out of station.

2 - Honda civic - auto - 2007 - first owner - silver - 55000km done - 6.9L

Both have a month of insurance left.

I observed very minor rattle near the steering column in the auto. rest is pristine. Please advise

Car needed for 2 years.

^^ The 2nd car makes sense. Good deal. But try and bargain a little more and get a total checkup done. If everything is tight then it would be a nice deal.

The auto transmission owner wont bulge from 7L - 6.9 was the last, maybe when I pay - can expect 10k more off, but not more .

Manual is with a dealer, but sweet price - maybe can push to 6.2L- thats the whole source of the confusion, the price is too sweet.

Go for the manual, it will still give you a good price after two years. Get it serviced immediately if you buy it. My 2p.

your traffic, do you face a lot of stop and go?

might sound lame, but if you do most of driving in inching-along traffic, get the auto, cos you have the option of either in the SAME used car!!lucky..
Just saying.
Otherwise, the comment befor mine, about resale, if its correct and its what you look to do, then of course, go for the manual.

PS: A driven car is always better than a garage-ed one, especially for so long.

If the second one is V model (as in V AT) and the first is S MT then choice should be V AT. If both are S models then you MAY think about the first one. I still say 'may' because the auto is more convenient to drive and more importantly the manual is with a dealer. Buying from a dealer is always tricky unless you really know cars well or have somebody alongside who does.

Insurance will add around 20k to the price so factor that in as well. Also check the tyres to see if they need replacing. If yes then that's another 20k. If it is still running on the original battery then that might need replacing soon as well. All in all whatever you chose to buy - get service hsitory of the vehicle beforehand and factor in all expenses you might need to make.

I am looking for a used car in Pune, something around 2-3L. would it be too much to expect a driver airbag in this budget? If not, is there any way that the quality of airbags would be questionable and should be verified in case the car is old?
I appreciate any information you can provide

re: The "USED" Car Price Check Thread. (Online tool : Page 1)

Hi guys!

I am in the market for a used Santro AT. One of the specimens I saw was a 2007 Silver XING AT model which has run around 30,000 kms. No dents anywhere, just the usual swirls on the body. A few scratches on the passenger side, but nothing that I feel cannot be fixed up. They are not that visible either. I am not an expert with tyres but they seem uniformly worn. They were never rotated with the spare, so the spare is in very new condition. I am being quoted 3.25 lakhs, but I am hoping to bring it down a bit. The owner is willing to let me get the car checked by the Hyundai workshop.

I want to know:

1. Is the price quoted fair?

2. Do the Hyundai A.S.S. have a certification job in their repertoire so that I can get the car diagnosed by them? How thorough are they and can their word be reliable?

Looking forward to a reply to this post.

Urgent: 1997 Fiat Uno Price needed for registration

Hi All,

I wanted to transfer my car's registration to Karnataka's. For that, I require the invoice price of the 1997 Fiat Uno Petrol 1.0 FIRE. If anyone knows where to get it from or has some knowledge about it, please let me know.

I have already contacted FIAT dealers in Udupi / Mangalore, but they seem to be dragging their feet on this.

This information will help calculate the lifetime tax for the vehicle after required depreciation.

@ Mods - Apologies if not in the correct category. Please move the thread if required.

Thanks in advance.
