I purposefully ignored the Indian names since they're better off than Maruti and Hyundai. Mahindra has already confirmed themselves as entrants for the Formula E, so they are serious about racing. Since Jaguar was in F1 in the past, even Tata might have a couple of aces up their sleeve if they choose to enter F1. Moreover, they sponsored NK too.

It'll be interesting to give Maldonaldo a feature-packed Hyundai and let others fight for survival.

zenren, Your post just reminded me of the recent caption competition that f1fanatic was running.

The 2014 F1 Season-chilsurtmarumonz2013886x590.jpg
Winning entry!
John Surtees: “I was motorcycling world champion, F1 world champion, i won out on this legendary circuit and i even had my own team”
Max Chilton: “Not bad! But did you ever finish every race in a season?"

Lotus has managed to get some much needed money for 2014 season from a new sponsorship deal with Saxo Bank.

Still no announcement of a title sponsor for McLaren. They will be running grey "McLaren" livery only at the first test.

Caterham will field an all-new driver line-up this year after confirming that Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi and Swedish rookie Marcus Ericsson will spearhead their 2014 campaign.

source - formula1.com

Kobayashi might prove to be crucial in their head to head battle with Marussia.

Koby will certainly punch above his weight. He will take Caterham forward and certainly knows how to drive the wheels off any car ( that is, if the engine doesn't give up it's ghost - till the time these guys master it).
A very good choice I would say. However thinking that his seat has been bought by fan funding (?), it looks real bad on the current state of affairs and also on Caterham . Tony Fernandez is pretty vocal on most issues but still goes for "Pay drivers".

With Bernie gone, the "Cost Cap" commies are going to have a field day telling Ferrari, RBR, Merc how to race within few million quid. Oh did I miss McLaren in the list...

After weeks of speculation, Caterham have announced Kamui Kobayashi's return to F1 with the Japanese driver partnering Marcus Ericsson.

Re: The 2014 F1 Season

There's got to be a commercial side to this. The car certainly resembles the Indian flag much much less, maybe this is to exploit the commercial side and make inroads into mexico?

We can already see that McLaren's loss is FI's gain. Carlos Slim's Claro is not on the McLaren like last year, but on the FI car and AFAIK roshfrans is a mexican company too.

I can't wait to see the nose though, that's the real aesthetic concern/worry imho.

The 2014 regs might make the nose look hideous, but this black dominant livery looks pretty cool, hope it performs as well as it looks. I think that's our first look at a 2014 spec f1 car.

Re: The 2014 F1 Season

The new Force India looks stunning! Swapping white for black never looked better. I love the wheels as well.

The main change is at the front and that angle doesn't give away anything at all. Hope the nose does justice to the very attractive livery.

Technical director Andrew Green says “Our nose is a launch spec and later we will have an updated front end of the car, which potentially is quite different."

And Perez has managed to bring a lot of Mexican flavor to the car along with the much needed pesos.

Looks great. I'm suddenly a Force India fan

Personally, the tricolour doesn't deserve to be on a F1 car given how our authorities look at F1 and make the life miserable for the organizers of Indian GP. This is step 1 in that direction.

Re: The 2014 F1 Season

^^ Will it be still called Force India? Looks like the Sahara name have more prominence. Nice colours though. Looks much better than the previous avatar.
