Thinking out loud here guys...No idea with aerodynamics..

RBR, Sauber, McLaren, have all gone for a protruding extended 'nose', which would in crude terms act like a spear and deflect the front air thrust to the cooling vents. Ferrari and somewhat Lotus, have gone for a more flat/ inward front, so that means not much piercing.

So... wouldn't this mean that the long nose cars RB, Sauber, McL, would work much better in open air, as in the front, while Ferrari and Lotus would be pretty consistent everywhere

I am a little concerned after seeing the F14 T. The nose looks very conservative and is by the book on interpretation of new rules. All the teams with a narrow nose can get sufficient air under the bulkhead but this looks very restricted in the Ferrari with a vacuum cleaner slot to suck air in.

Also, the power-train needs a lot of cooling and the Ferrari side pod is the narrowest. This of course will keep the car slip through the air but I hope it is not at the expense of cooling.

And quite clearly the worst cars of any season aesthetically from all teams. FIA has managed to make the cars ugly, slower and silent. I just hope the races are not boring with half the field retiring due to reliability issues and the other half limping around to save fuel and tyre. The higher torque from the new power-trains low down the rpm and the soft Pirelli doesn't look a good match.

Hope I am wrong with all that is written above. We will know a little better today. Eagerly waiting for the RB10. The highlight of course is Kimi having his first run in the Ferrari at Jerez today.

Agreed, the Force India looks absolutely ridiculous. Livery is still pretty awesome, but that nose needs to change. Adding a few more pics..

Ha ha. I'm pretty sure F1 drivers are now banned from high-risk activities, particularly after Schumi's accident. The only bike Vettel (and others) will probably be allowed on is an exercise bike!

The VJM07 looks great in its black livery, but that NOSE tip? The most hideous & the ugliest front of 2014 i guess. The designers at RBR & Mercedes have done a great job with the front nose tip on their respective cars. By far the Mercedes is the best looking car of 2014.
