That was a good one Paras211 . If they were, would you join us? It's BYOB and make it Kingfisher!! (Mallya is charging $9.50 for those tiny 6-pack bottles here in Chicago)

Let's face it. There is a certain amount of jealously involved among other drivers (especially Alonso and Kimi) that an upstart like Hamilton can come and win the Championship in the first year.

It's not just talent, which beyond any doubt Hamilton has by the boat loads, but also reliability and luck which has to favour you if you are to end up in the podium consistently.

Teams are going to try everything they can to gain an advantage, even if it looks silly from our "vantage point" in the sidelines.

If Hamilton doesn't claim pole, he has a tough fight ahead on him in China especially if it rains during the race. Exciting!

I have seen the video, I have read all the posts. Does that mean I am not entitled to express my view, whether it be repetitious or not?? Clearly a Ferrari fan or an Alonso fan (or conversely a McLaren/Hamilton baiter) would have a point of view that agrees with Webber's claims, while the others wouldn't. The critical fact to be borne in mind would be the terrible driving conditions and all decisions need to be taken with that as the basis. My point to the post simple: Why question Lewis' driving when the fault could lie with Vettel's inexperience, brake performance and mental make-up at the time of the incident? A finger pointing exercise post-facto is always easier especially when it is from the confines of a dry well-ventilated room, with the luxury of time to make decisions.

Make sense now?

This is a prediction thread guys. The discussion on lewis' erratic driving is dragging a lot.

I get a feeling that McLaren and Hammie would try to be very very safe and just ensure he is in the points and stays ahead. As of now the pole or the podium may not matter than the title itself. So he may be very cautious in china this time and go for a win in the last one at Brazil when there is no mathematical chance for Alonso or Kimi anymore.

Pole positions -

Hamilton - P1
Kimi - P2
Massa - P3
F. Alonso - P4

I think pole position order will remain till race completion.

What a fantastic final lap from Lewis. Where did he pull that out from? Not only is he on pole, he has put 2 cars between him and Alonso making it that much harder for Alonso. This is one race start I don't want to miss under any circumstance.

I think i saw hamilton not refueling before setting the fastest lap at the end where as fuel went inside kimi's car . so there are chances that hamilton got the fastest lap done with a lighter car where as kimi can do a few laps more tomorrow.

lets hope to see a good race tomorrow..

The provisional grid for the Chinese Grand Prix:

1 Hamilton, 2 Raikkonen
3 Massa, 4 Alonso
5 Coulthard, 6 Schumacher
7 Webber, 8 Heidfeld
9 Kubica, 10 Button
11 Liuzzi, 12 Trulli
13 Kovalainen, 14 Davidson
15 Rosberg, 16 Barrichello
17 Vettel, 18 Fisichella
19 Wurz, 20 Sato
21 Sutil, 22 Yamamoto

Cheap_deal,
That's wishful thinking. Alonso will have to pass both Red cars to get to Hamilton.

It looks like Hamilton has this Championship all wrapped-up, unless he runs out of luck. But, Lady Luck has been pretty consistent as to whom she favours this year. Hope she picks Kimi next year.

Weather reports suggest a possible wet race tomorrow. In that case its an open race. Hamilton will be looking to shut out alonso from the title challenge. I hope it goes down to the wire.
