Quoting a year ago post from you thread

I drive 2013 Etios Liva GD Xclusive and had few question pertaining to the fuel indicator.

As there are 8 bars on fuel indicator. by simple math 45/8 = 5.625. However the manual says when the last bar is left and orange light is flashed there is 6.8 litres of fuel, does it mean 45 - 6.8 = 38.2, 38.2/7 = 5.45.

The other day last blink came in and i knew 6.8 litres of diesel was left. However after covering 32 -35 kms the last bar also vanished just like the picture you have posted. Luckily i was near petrol pump and did refuel.

As of now car has covered 126x kms in 50 days of ownership and haven't really calculated FE, but rough estimate is between 16-17 in city.

re: The White Knight - My Toyota Etios Liva Diesel. 25000 kms update

Hey Saadat, Gone through your ownership log and appreciate your effort in keeping up the ownership log updated and clear. I'am not an Etios owner, im now driving my Figo TDCI and was amused by the mileage logs you have posted.

I happened to see that you and your friend upgraded your headlamps with 100/90 and HID, I want to get your feedback on this upgrades. Do you find 100/90 setup is great or the HID?
I'am hearing mixed review on HID, some says its not so powerful and useless at rainy nights. Also wants to know where in Chennai your friend got this HID/projector setup done?

Hi!
The 90/100s are the best bet for our roads. The HIDs are insanely powerful and blinding but, they are short lived. They burn up the reflectors easily. My friend's foglamp lens cracked due to excessive heat. 90/100w in my Liva seems to be working absolutely fine. Highbeams are powerful and kind of blinding at the sametime. HIDs are white lights and hence wont have much penetration in foggy weather. Projectors are of a different kind. My friend changed to projectors after his HIDs gave up. The projectors are nice and focussed but, not of much use when you try to flash during daytime because the light takes quite sometime to warm up and the flash is hardly seen. He got the projectors fitted in a shop in Salem

Sorry for the late update guys!
The car actually met with a small accident and i had to change the radiator's frame which made me poorer by 17k. Here are a few pics:

That was after the impact of the stone i ran over. It took more than 10 days to get it repaired.

The white knight recently touched 18000kms. The running has drastically come down in the past few months.

Also, the roots windtone horn stopped working and i was forced to use the stock horn which we all know is very meek. Then, decided to go for a powerful and durable ones. Got the Hella supertones yesterday and they are frikking loud! They really give you the road presence.

These horns are HUGE!

Oh sad to hear that.

Anyways, Hella red grille is indeed the best, loud and pleasing. The wind tone (BOSCH, Roots whatever) horns life is very short. I had to replace twice on my previous ride and for my current ride i went for this red grille, and it works perfectly for 1.5 years.

Sad to hear about accident.

Since you paid 17k from your pocket, i am sure you must have claimed insurance what was total cost for repairing ?

Those horns are huge, are you still continuing with same ampere fuse ?

Oops.. Sorry! I forgot to mention about the insurance claim
The insurance covered 14k, had to pay 3k out of my pocket.

Yes, those horns were swapped with my old Roots ones without changing the fuses and relay harness.

Did a comparison video between my stock horn and the Hella Supertones.
The difference is massive!
Watch it to see the difference!

Today, the white knight turns 2!
This is a very late update as i was held up with college work.
The odo stands at 22,856km.
The mileage has dropped to 10-11kmpl.
It's been ages since the car hit the highways, a little worried about the mileage though. Otherwise, the car is perfectly fine.

Congratulations to White Knight on turning 2

FE of 10-11 kmpl is very low in city i get between 16-17 kmpl with Ac always on.

Is the third service done on your Liva or it is yet to be done ? Now that you have 22856 kms on ODO which is more than third service interval of 20k Kms, if the service is not carried out then please get it done as soon as possible.

I am assuming the third service at 20k is not done since there is no update in your thread regarding the same.Mean while check the Oil level and colour of the oil also clean the Air filter.

The third service was done at 19,XXXkms. The drop in FE is mainly due to the 1st -2nd gear traffic & occasional flooring.
I didn't update the thread after the service because i was held up with my project work & exams.
Been a while since i hit the highways! The 10-11kmpl fig is with AC on at all times. Since the mileage dropped drastically, im opting for public transport nowadays which is cheaper & gives me a break from the horrible traffic :P

@giri1.8 - Bro! You know how bad Nelson Manickam road's traffic is! It kills the mileage & my left foot(hard clutch) !
