Hi anurag, was just going through your thread for the nth time, could see a significant drop in mileage figures across the 120000kms, I mean on the MID.
Has it actually happened too?

re: The story of a Blue Streak a.k.a Maruti Swift ZDi (Torque Blue). 1,20,000 km up & now sold

SERVICE UPDATE:

Got in touch with my team mate (BHPian interc00led) and performed the DIY Service. Bought ourselves a plastic tray to collect oil (₹45) and two Funnels of different size (₹15 & ₹30).

Following things were bought prior:
  1. Engine Oil - Petronas Selenia WR 5W40
  2. Oil drain bolt
  3. Service Kit (Consists of Oil Filter; Engine Air Filter and Fuel Filter)
  4. Cabin Air filter
  5. Coolant
  6. Brake Fluid

Couldn't change the coolant and Brake Fluid as it started to rain. So postponing these two jobs.

No as much as much seen. I reset the MID every time I do a fuel refill and the image clicked was just 20 kms post refilling fuel.

But yes, post the injector cleaning, I love to push the car much more due to its stress-free nature and slightly more silent drive.

Just a few questions-
-What about underbody stuff?like cleaning the debris below and suspension components like bushes replacement etc that the service center guys have an idea after lifting?
-Engine oil flush?
-brake oil flush and cleaning?
-EGR? Where will you get that done if from now on you'll do all services yourself?

Bushes replacement was done at 80K at FNG. I have the service manual of the car so it is easier for me if I am stuck at any place.

Don't do this since I change oil every 3 months or 10K kms, car doesn't need a engine oil flush.

Jack stands enough for this job.

I'll be getting a pair too which make it 2 pairs to lift the whole car for any job.

Oil filled is Castrol Manual API GL-4 80W90
Quoting my own post where I had changed the Gear Oil in my car and all I can say it was the worst of the lot of ever.

When the oil is cold, 1st and 2nd gear are 'hard' to shift into. Downshifting from 2nd to 1st requires to come to a dead halt whereas earlier I could downshift at 5 kmph at least.

When the oil has reached the operating temperature life was slight better. I had covered almost 3,000 kms since the change.

Decided to change the oil and I was on search for 75W90 but as usual no availability then BHPian interc00led said lets get Petronas Tutela Technyx. Tried in the two main ASC's of Fiat here but they were adamant on me getting a Fiat car so the job card could be opened after which they will give it over-the-counter to me or I get a registration number of a Fiat car that I know.

Sincere thanks to BHPian Keynote who got hold of 3 litres for me from Bangalore and handed it over when we met. Thanks buddy.

Product Name: Petronas Tutela Technyx
Grade: 75W85
Compatibility: API GL4 Plus; SAE 75W85; Fiat 9.55550-MX3 C.T.R NF010.B05
Costs: ₹ 600 per litre x 3 = ₹ 1,800
Shipping: Free, on his S-Cross 1.6.

I have driven almost 180 kms post the oil change and all I can say is "She is Back!!"

Precise, smooth and sure-slotting gears like how it was when new. I can downshift from 2nd to 1st at ease even at 5 kmph.

Happy Shifting!
I too changed the gear knob of my Swift VXi to that of the Ciaz last week. The part number is slightly different now 28113 M 79M01 - C48 and the MRP is Rs. 335. I had ordered it through a garage close to my house and changed it myself. The old knob had started breaking off. The original knob is very heavy compared to the Ciaz one. Although the Ciaz one looks good, I think I like the feel of the older one (because of its shape) while shifting gears.

Thank you for the details you had added to your thread.

Hi Anurag,

Have been silently following your thread and must say you've done a commendable job at maintaining the car. Now since you've posted that certain modifications and accessories are being carried forward to your next car I'd take this oppurtunity to congratulate you in advance for your latest acquisition and at the same time will ask what is going to be next car of yours.

Regards,
Subhra

Congratulations on a great choice brother. I'm pretty sure this car is also going to serve you flawlessly for as long as you wish to keep it. Do start a new thread on the Creta.
