Just a question to All, does the first service really increase the mileage? Do they tune the engine for this? If so, why is it not fine tuned from the factory itself? I thought in the first service they just check everything and replace oil (in some cases). Any idea guys??

Hi pamishra,

actually this is the second service (5000 KMs). In the second service they change the engine oil and basic tune ups including air filter cleaning. Earlier I never got this much mileage, I am sure the servicing has done the wonders.

I once had a milage of over 18 kmpl. I had driven for about 24 km. I drove to Pune airport at 4 in the morning and came back at 11 in the night driving half the distance in 2nd gear (because of trucks)!

Yes, I have the same problem with my 2.5 month old ANHC. I went to Crystal Honda workshop in Pune and told him the problem. He mentioned that it is kind of a common problem. In my case the problem is more evident at 3->2.
The SA opened the cover around the gear lever and sprayed some liquid (was probably some sort of lubricant). The problem vanished for a few day and reappeared again.

The met department has predicted the monsoon to set in Delhi and surrounding areas on or around 29 June. So that’s just one week away. I did a thorough waxing job using turtle wax on my car today to protect the car from monsoon blues. It took over two hours to complete the job. I must say turtle wax is very difficult to remove but worth the hard work. I am yet to try 3M liquid wax on my car; I will use it first on my Karizma. Formula one is easy to remove but it doesn’t last much as turtle wax. I am yet to source collinite wax and try to see the difference between turtle/f1 and collinite.

BTW,have you tried Amway Silicone Glaze polish? I have been using on my previous cars and found pretty good.

I haven’t yet tried Amway products. I will surely try them next time as soon as my current tin of formula one and turtle wax gets over.

I bought two sunshades for my car like in this picture.

The direct sun light makes the dashboard too hot in afternoons; this may also damage electronics of the car like the ICE. Also this will help protect the dashboard color from fading.

After servicing Venus is running butter smooth. Mileage has not dropped below 14 KMPL in city conditions while most of the time it remains above 15 KMPL on open roads.

The MID was showing this figure today while cruising on outer ring road.

I had a similar thing fixed for my Corsa (since it has a rear demister, I hadn't fit sunfilm on it).

While it is effective while it is fixed, the sunshade is a like a 1-time permanent fixture. Do not roll in/out the shade frequently as the shade ends up getting stuck in the middle. Also, it catches a LOT of dust so be sure to clean it once a while.

When I was looking for sun films for my car I was also worried about installing film on the rear windshield with demister. In fact I have seen many people driving their cars with sun films only on four side windows and not on rear windshield. But the guy who installed my sun films advised me to get it done from outside and even after four months the installation is intact. The guy did a very good job; no one can tell whether it is installed from outside or inside. He did pressing with some device and when I asked him about this then he told me that this pressing will make sure the films doesn't comes out. So one can get films installed on rear windshield from outside.

The 0-40 bar is actually the instantaneous mileage indicator. It shows the mileage as you tap the accelerator. The lower section displays overall mileage of the car.

I was inspecting the engine compartment this evening and I just couldn’t figure out some parts in the engine bay. Fellow ANHC owners and bhpians please help me figure out the parts which I have numbered from 1 to 16. Please download the picture of engine bay and zoom (if required) to recognize those parts on which I have put numbers.





I know about some parts like 6 is the washer reservoir, 7 is the alternator, 8 is the main engine head ,10 must be the throttle body, 14 is the battery and 16 & 4 must be A/C piping. No idea about 1, 2,3,5,9 11,12,13,15. Also figure out any further part which I may have missed. Where are fuse box, ECU, compressor, starter and horn?


Also just a concern, one can see the windings of alternator i.e. they are not protected from water etc., won’t this damage if rain water may enter it during monsoons.

I guess even others are having tough time recognizing what's under the hood.

My friend (who also owns an ANHC) came to meet me today and we were discussing on all those complex parts in ANHC's engine bay.

From the discussion it was clear that the item marked 1 is brake fluid reservoir. Coolant reservoir is near the radiator (not visible in pics). 5 is most probably the engine mounting connected with chassis. 10 is the throttle body but still not sure. Either one of 11, 12 and 13 contains the air filter element, still not sure. 15 may be is the fuse box or ECU? Horn is there in front of radiator.

I am still not sure about many things. It would have been great if these things were in my mind during the second service. Have to wait for third service to get all information about what's under the hood from service advisor.

Questions still need to be answered

Q1 Where is fuse box?
Q2 Where is ECU?
Q3 Where is compressor and starter?
Q4 Identification of 3, 9, 11, 12, 13 and 15?
