re: It's Me and My Honda City i-VTEC - It's Us Against the World! EDIT: Sold!

Glad to hear that the news is all good , i think a bit of good luck went your way as well with this one. Did the plate require a change or just some banging to restore it back to the the original shape?

Will give 9/10 to Ring Road Honda, Delhi.

They just restored it back to normal shape. I am happy that fuel tank was absolutely fine.

With the cost of fuel these days it should be the first thing to be checked!!

Actually I went to meet my relatives this morning and we parked our car in their school. Now they have made a big speed-breaker (bigger than the normal ones) before their school's entrance which is a little steep. Now that's a deadly combination for a low slung car. My car was stuck over the speed-breaker and didn't move. The workers at the school placed some bricks behind the tyres so that the GC raises and the car could clear the breaker. We were able to clear the speed breaker but there was quite a bit of noise from underside during the process.

Though the car is running perfectly fine and we didn't observed anything unusual while en route back to Delhi but I still guess there must be some underside damage to some protection plates etc (the middle portion was stuck).

I am little worried and will take the car to Service station tomorrow and inspect the damage.

Sad day for Venus .
Sorry to hear about the under body scraping of your car.
Usually it is the silencer that gets the first hit, since it is made of stainless steel, it also takes the scraping quite well.
Glad that there were no other damages and you could get the car serviced and touched up.
Did you have Bajaj alliance insurance for the last year as well?
Any reason why you opted for zero depreciation policy?
By the way how did you come out of the place again, hope you had another exit to come out.

Yes My earlier policy was also from Honda Assure - Bajaj Alliance.

I opted for Zero dep as the car is still quite new and Honda parts as you know are very expensive. So I find it the best bet though it is expensive by around 5-6K.

Have you also opted for 0 dep?

There was no other exit. The workers at school placed few bricks under the car and behind the tyres to raise the ground clearance. After that I slowly reversed and car was out of the steep breaker.

It was very tough situation and it would have caused a lot of damage.

I did not opt for zero depreciation policy as I thought it may not suit my requirements.
As for the scrapings, please have a look at the pictures posted in my thread.
Sometimes the scraping sound is more than the actual damage itself.

It's Me and My Honda City i-VTEC - It's Us Against the World! EDIT: Sold!-dsc04760.jpg

The big day – 28th October arrives and Our Honda City turns one year old. Throughout this one year Venus always kept us happy no matter what circumstances were. I couldn’t do much for her on this special day except for a little photo-shoot and a good waxing/polishing job.

I wish that Venus remains us with us for many years to come and accompany us for many adventurous trips of our life.

KMs covered in one year – 7100KMs

Happy Diwali!

Congratulations bluvolt on the first birthday of venus.
Though I shouldn't be saying this (as I did 5,500 KM only), 7,100 KM in a year is less and may be you could consider little more in the coming year.
If you have kept records of the total ownership costs, you could post them as well.
How about gifting a set of alloys on this occasion?

Thanks HC, About the alloys let's see if budget permits in coming times.

Our annual usage is around 9-10 K Kms but Venus covered less KMs because I and my father was out of station for around one month each and it was not used much during that time.

I will try to crunch maximum miles in coming year.

re: It's Me and My Honda City i-VTEC - It's Us Against the World! EDIT: Sold!

Ok guys, It was my elder brother’s marriage last week and Venus was accompanying us for the most important event of our life i.e. to take the newly wed couple to home safely.

Here is how she was looking on the wedding day.

Congratulation bluevolt for your brother's wedding.
Venus looks gorgeous like a bride.
Do you have any better shots with your DSLR?
The first image has lot of unnecessary surroundings.

Thanks HC,

I am yet to receive photos from photographer. Let me see if photographer has few shots of Venus or not.
