Guys, I wish to learn from the owner as to how do they warm up the cars.

I am patient with the blue indicator going of at stationary position, however now that it's started to get cold up north, the engine warms but not the gear oil. First two gears are tough to engage, I drive at 4am thus this is quite a pain. Or is there any other way to warm up?

Thanks!

Other than idling I don't think there is some way to warm up car efficiently.

I just start the car; get it out of parking area and start driving.

Idling till the temperature gauge reaches the middle isn't recommended by manufacturers. It consumes a lot of fuel and takes much longer than the engine would take to warm up when being driven.

Actually there is no temp. guage in the City! Just a icon in the instrument cluster for cold engine and overheated engine.

Very true but my issue is not with the engine but mostly with the gearbox.

I am trying a few things such as pumping the clutch for about 20 times and this has eased things a bit but not same as the feel of gears in Summers.

Thanks!

For the last couple of days, horn of my car is sounding different tone - a little pitch higher than normal.

Any other faced this issue? Should I get it replaced under warranty at next service?

Welcome to my world.

Go to A.S.S, get the horn checked - all they'll do is tighten it and say aal iz wel.

Petrol will be Rs. 40/l before A.S.S. will replace the horn.

bluevolt, I had similar problem with the horn and got one of the two horns replaced under warranty.
Please refer to the details on my thread.

Please remember to take the warranty booklet with you when you go to the service station.

I remember Maruti A.S.S tightening the screw of my WagonR's horn and solving the issue couple of years back.

But I will try to get it replaced completely if it doesn't sound the way it used to sound earlier.

Same issue with me. Do the horns like winters? I guess not, the sound is different for sure, myths odo reads 14000 km.
Another issue that has started to upset me is the speed of the rear power windows. Can someone comment if you find the rear windows speed to be slowwwwerrrr than the front. I have recently started to travel back seat and it's a pain. Thanks!

I checked this in my car. The rear windows is 1-2 seconds slower than front windows. Why the difference though?

What is the time delay in your case? Let's see what other owners have to say over this issue.

bluevolt, tuning the horn (in other words tightening the screw of the horn) is not a good or permanent solution especially when the car is under warranty.
In your case I would suggest that you check both the horns and get them replaced by the service center.
Do not accept the repair/tuning solutions as you may have to go again for repair/replacement later.
Again do not forget to take the warranty booklet with you.

Rear is at 3/4 while the other shuts completely. I thought in my case the rear have not been used till date maybe 10 times in 15 months. But now that I am using, it's annoying. Please suggest a solution. Thanks!
