My humble opinion , though.

It really depends on many factors, because an HID in a projector or an LED in the correct lens even having more than twice or thrice the brightness of the 55w stock bulbs blinds oncoming motorists even less than 55w halogens. So it depends how focused the light is, and not the brightness for it to blind oncoming cars.

I fully agree with that point. The effective life of LED or even Xenons are lower while the replacement costs are quite high. You can replace a standard bulb at a cost between 20-100, while a halogen bulb would be between 500-1200.

An HID bulb would be between 4-6k and for premium vehicles as much as 30K! LEDs would range from 500 onwards.

I would say the overall cost of running goes higher and higher as we advance in technology.

LEDs usually last 30,000 hours. Failure, if it happens, is usually in the first 4-5 months of use.
A standard halogen bulb lasts 1000-2000 hours max.

Could be so, but I've seen many LED failures, as of now, unless ofcourse its made by the vehicle manufacturer. Replacing a halogen is just a breeze - never pinches your pocked.

Yes, the life expectancy of an LED exceeds all three, Normal, Halogen or HID by a very large margin. Also, these are normally arrays so if one goes still adequate illumination is there.

Actually most light bars are IP67
Dakar cars use IP68 which uses special glass which can withstand impact from rocks and gravel too at high speed. But this is significantly more expensive.

For example.
IP67 60W light in good quality can be sourced for 11000/pair
60W LED bar can be sourced for 12000-12500/pair

However, 60W Spot light pair is around 16000/pair minimum for IP68
Light bar goes to 20,000/pair or even higher in some cases for IP 68

Your idea of getting two light bars is good, but I would advise to go for spot bars only. In flood bars they just add a diffuser. So you don't get much diffuse pattern. Spot bars have a 30 degree divergence which is good enough if you are using two light bars, one under each light.

Infect single spot bar 60/80W was original idea but later i change my mind and decided to go with 2 combo LED bar for local resilience.

Yes, always a better idea. I got just one bar as I was experimenting and stuff. I also was ordering the special work lamp, so no point in getting two, as I will have the special work lamps too

your bar is 10W cree LED each, which is a very good thing. Many people go for 60W or 48W light bars which have 16/20 LEDs of 3W each. The 3W LEDs are totally useless and throw light just right in the front, without any range. Due to large number of LEDs, they cannot use the big lens, and hence light is all scatter, and not directed.

Next step up is the 12W cree LED. Its the same LED, but with heavier heatsink which allows it to be driven at 12W instead of 10W.
So very good for range.
The light is also a bit warmer.

I foresee that in the next year or so, good sellers will graduate to 12W LEDs. Its awesome!

TSK, i saw your hands-on video on youtube (part 1/2) and few more; at that point of time only decided i will go with 10w

Did you source the Cree 60w bar from outside and did the fitting yourself? I planned for a single bar for my Pajero as well but wasn't sure should I go for it or no. Recently did a 6500kms road trip from Chandigarh to Goa and back via Hyderabad and many times while driving at night felt the need for a center single multi LED bar. I have a Pair of Hella Micro FF installed but the Cree in your video will beat anything.

This year planning for Sikkim, Arunachal etc. so money spent on a decent LED bar will not go wasted
