The problem here is of perception - When I first bought shaldans I had gone for 2 cans of the same flavor (lime). Used 1 -, in the winter months - it lasted for around 2 months. When the first can was over I opened the second can and to my disbelief I could not feel it anymore... Then tried Lemon, then orange both of these flavors didn't seem to spread any fragrance - then one day I tried apple, and since past 1.5 months it's been going strong... it seems that after certain time - a particular smell just sinks in and you just don't notice it...

At the moment I am using a blueberry flavoured air freshner, the ones you hang over the mirror. I thankfully have a generous enough uncle who sends me supplies from the US. If any of you guys in bangalore need one, let me know. (at a small fee ofcourse)

Hi all,
I use "Mr Poppy". Not the colourful one but the one which come only in two colors Golden and Silver.
My Santro is Silver so i have two of them in my car, one on the dash board and one at the rear parcel rack.
I would really recommend this
Check This out,
Mr. poppy
Believe me guys my car still smells of it even after its over since last two months

Help needed!
Can some one tell me where can i find the refills for the same? A new one costs 400INR, and i am sure a refill would be a lot cheep.

Regards
Gaurav

These are available at usual Car accessories shop.
You can also find it in big Departmental stores in bangalore.

I guess you can checkout some Departmental stores in kolkata where they have a section of care care products.

I would suggest 'Citrus' Flavor. The sharp smell makes itself noticeable.

Mr. Poppy is the best, citrus. If you can get the original

P.s : Original lasts about 6 months, dupes are gone in a month and they leak.

Guys - Need some help for my new car. Its just 20 days old and it smells like dead rat inside the cabin. I have ambipur "Wave" and it is fine when the A/c is on. But when i open the door it smells like S***. I have done a vaccum cleaning but its no use. Took it to sevice station to give a water wash and pressurised air still no change.

Note: I am yet to remove the plastic covers which are used to cover the new car. Would this be the problem. I am planning to add an art leather seat cover by end of this month and thougt i can remove those plastic covers at that time. Should i remove them to get ride of the problem.

Its terrible smell when i open the car and i have stopped inviting my friends to see the car now. Please help ... i do not want a new car to smell like this.

This is possibly part of your problem. There may be moisture under the plastic. Check also for a plastic sheet above the carpet. Strip this all away, wash the carpets and dry in the sun. Clean the seats, if required, with a Sofa cleaning spray.
A new car should just smell clean and fresh after 20 days.

I had the same "dead rat" smell you described. Found out that the culprit was wet mats. Washing and sun drying cleared the odour.

Also, check the 'dollar store' (Indian ones) and see if you can pick up some carpet cleaners. Some of them are in powder form with baking soda which you have to vacuum clean after leaving it sprinkled on for some time. It worked for me.
