Re: How does your car smell

Dear Friends

I was thinking of buying an Aeroguard Car Air Purifier by Eureka Forbes . They claim that it will remove the odours inside the car. Has anybody used this equipment ? Would like to get some feedback on the veracity of their claim before buying it.

Re: How does your car smell

My friend had got Clair De Lune Ambiance from Canada and I have been using it for past 4 months. The smell is nice and lasts really long. Plus it is mild and not as harsh as ambi pur - so the folks wont complain of headaches. Even after 4 months, I can hold it near the AC vents for a few seconds and the car smells of mild perfume.

Unfortunately I couldn't find it in India.

This is what it looks like - It fits in the AC vents

I am quite pleased with My shaldan but thinking of changing to something else. How does the Areon Ken black crystal exactly smell?

It's very mild and you can smell it when you enter the car. It's not "in your nose" so to speak - you can't smell it all the time.

I recently tried Godrej Aer Twist in the cool blue variant and loved it. Lasted quite a long time since I rarely lower the windows on my car. I just picked up the after smoke musk variant and it is very mild. Can barely smell it but it's only a couple of days since i bought it and I have not driven much either so hoping it is as good as the cool blue one.

The best part of the Areon’s packaging is, there’s a small strip at the top that has the sample fragrance embedded in it just like those expensive magazines with scent strips:

so you can get an idea of the fragrance that the gel inside would emanate. The fragrance is a bit too strong though.
Hi Gannu, what is the color of areon wish gel? The tin I got has white colored (looks like candle wax) wax.

Man, honestly I don't recall right now. I've switched to Areon Ken Vanilla sometime back (PayTM had an offer going on at that time and it was cheaper by 40% off the MRP) and I've dumped it in the glovebox since it was emanating too much of fragrance!

Please post a pic of the contents inside the can. From my memory, I'll confirm and let you know.

Mine was something between a gel and wax, but with yellowish colour.

Re: How does your car smell

I used to put 'Gajra' in the car and then keep the dried petals in 2-3 small perforrated plastic bags. I love the smell of fresh flowers.

This time, I am trying my luck with those odonil style toilet fresher. I have wrapped a small 1"x1" piece in multiple layers or paper to control the vaporization. I had it under the driver seat for a few days, but then moved it to the trunk (hatch)

2 weeks and I have not had any problem.

If this works for a month, then this is the most cost effective solution.

If you are allergic to odonil/napthelene balls then stay away.

Re: How does your car smell

Speaking of odonil, a friend had put one on the cubby hole below the start/stop switch on his brand new Ciaz and had his car parked under the sun. The odonil melted in the cubby hole and made a complete mess there! Luckily, it didn't eat into the plastics and he was able to remove most of it on the same day evening. So please be cautious.

Re: How does your car smell

Guys you can try this for your car http://www.mywhiteleaf.com/

Its a wooden box with activated charcoal in it. Stick it to anywhere in the car and forget about any smell for the next 6 months. Smokers are going to love this. But it doesn't produce any smell of its own, just absorbs it. Product is very natural and you don't need to inhale any vaporized fragrances. Wooden box doesn't look cheap either. It has premium feel to it.

I've been using it for more than a week. The fragrance is pleasant and mild, in fact better than Areon wish which I've used earlier.

How is the fragrance Gannu ? I thought of buying Areon Ken Vanilla but opted for black crystal in the last moment. Will go for it during my next purchase based on your feedback.

I am currently using Fire & Ice by Revlon. It's just awesome. One spray lasts me a week as I seldom roll down my car glass.

Honestly it's my wife's spray that was 3 years old and she didn't want to use because of expiry dates etc. She was about to throw it and I figured out it can be used in the cars.

Yikes.. But that's expected the thing is supposed to evaporate/melt.

and that's the reason that I have it wrapped in paper and placed in an area which never gets direct sun light. Below the seats or in the hatch

Very nice! Have you tried it? It looks like they have 9 different products. Is the difference only the shape and type of the wooden boxes? I like what I see there and would like to try it.

And this is so cool!

They are just different shapes and sizes with the same material. I have used 2 from their website. They actually work. No smell for the past few months. They are supposed to work for 6 months.
