The same thing in our case too !! but AFAIK the scooty pep + is better than pep as it had several issues sorted out.

So Scooty Pep +

Can you experts suggest which one is the best amongst the ones available..

I guess with the super cars and bikes around.. this wouldn't be a topic of choice for discussion.I hope the scooterette lovers and users would surely help..

P.S. I also read in a auto website that a modified and powerful Activa will be soon launched.

Look forward to your views and suggestions.

@Ash: Honda Aviator is very capable bike with proven 100CC Honda Engine and with a very good service network.

Suzuki Access is a 125CC bike, the only downside is rediculas waiting time of 6 month for delivery.

I would also suggest you to test drive Kinetic Flyte (125CC) along with the above mentioned bike. It has loads of storage space available under the seat!! the only down side is the A.S.S

After Sales Services

@ritz830: I met couple of blase owners while servicing my vehicle and nobody spoke about good experience. Most of the time they had to wait for spare to arrive.

Hey Thanks Mail4loys.

BTW Do we have any Blaze owners?

I guess I will wait for the New Activa or Blaze if the review is good. Its 165 cc s compared to the 102cc of Activa.

Any idea when the new Activa will be launched?
the Honda dealer in Mumbai has no clue of the date and price but is aware of the arrival. He also have no information n the changes.

Finally i found the article I read..
sorry for the info earlier. it was on vicky.in and not on BHP anywhere as I thought it was..

Honda to launch new Activa Deluxe in 2009 | Vicky blog | Indian Automobile blog

Here it is..

As we informed you earlier, Honda will introduce two mass market vehicles in the current fiscal (2008-2009), of which one would be a scooter and an unknown other model. More details have evolved on the new scooter. The new scooter would be new Activa. But read it carefully, it will be facelifted but not a plain sticker job which we have been witnessing for years. The new activa will get a new engine sourced from Aviator. However the the variomatic transmission will be carried forward from the current one. The new activa will come in two variants - activa and activa deluxe. Activa deluxe will be the top end variant and would boast additional features and will come at a premium. Honda will also introduce new practical features with the launch of new activa. Expect the new activa before April 2009.

Can you do this on a Activa??????

I read this classifieds AD on Sulekha

Can anyone confirm if one can actually do this???? Esp the Xenon ATS and HIDs...

"2008 Honda Activa, Silver colour with HID (Germany Made) Lamp and Remote Lock System (Original Xenos) available for 45000/-. 2500 KM done. Well maintained and no single scratch on the body. New Activa on-road price (Insurance, Road Tax, Registration) without accessories (Front & back Guard, Foot rest etc) is 47000/-. With Accessories it will be 49500/. I have fixed HID lamp it gives 10000 Lux daylight lighting (normal light gives 400 Lux). Activa is protected by Xenos original anti-theft system (Chinese models availbe for 700/- but no use). You can do following operations with remote.

1. Lock
2. Unlock
3. Start
4. Locate vehile
5. Panic mode
6. Immobilizer (Vehicle can’t be started without key, if started vehicle shall be immobilized. With original key only it can be unlocked)
7. Impact Sensor

New Activa on-road price with accessories, HID Lamp and Xenos Remote System will be – 53800/- (49500 + 2800 + 1500 = 53800)"

kinetic blaze???? dont even think about it. the company kinetic itself does not exist anymore. its confined to HISTORY.

am also told that the firodia family, who once owned kinetic, are now struggling to hang onto any kind of business under their name after selling the kinetic motor name out to mahindra.

Need a scooterette for my wife!

Hi,

I need a scooterette for my wife. Her preference are

1. Good looks (read: femanine, available in attractive colors like Chocolate, burgundy, Magenta <add any other color here>)
2.Should be light
3.Not too powerful.
4.Should have features
5.Easy to maintain (this is added by me.)
6.Around 40 K

Based on the choices, there are only ones to fit the bill is TVS Scooty Pep+ and Teenz (with the old 2 stroke motor).

Are there no other choices? let me know.

TVS Scooty Pep+ would be the right choice for your above mentioned preference!

Just to close on this, we finally bought Activa.

I first checked with Pashankar for Activa and as usual, was told that it would take 35-40 days. I checked with Kothari, who promised delivery within 4 days and when I went for booking next week, went back saying it would take 3 weeks. I gave up on him too and checked with BU Bhandari, who promised and delivered vehicle within 1 week.

Suzuki Access still has waiting period of 3 months, which I feel is absolutely ridiculous, though I liked it more than Activa.

Blaze is a pretty decent scooter(if you may call it )
power is adequate for city and occasional highway cruising.. the seat is like a sofa to sit on!! but cant say the same about the rear seat but its not that bad..
about the service in Bangalore i do its pretty ok many local service centers ready to take in the vehicle any one who services the trusty old kinetic honda takes in the blaze.
I bought the vehicle at CVS kinetic i shoud say they are absolute morons..
the brand new vehicle i bought had scratches on the front fender and on the silencer.. i showed it to him immedately on delivery he asked him to come with the vehicle in 2 days and get the parts replaced..
Overall i love the vehicle i may say it grabs attention where ever you go
Mileage is not that good max i get is around 25 to 27 not more.
I would recommend this only if you need to be different from the normal activas and other gearless vehicles. Mahindra has taken over kinetic expect some changes in the future.
uploading a few pics 2 cheers:
