Okay so an update after a loong time. The Odo is at 527kms

One issue I am facing is that the service light starts flickering each time i switch the bike on and stays for a few seconds. I am not sure why it is doing that. The first two times the bike was reached its service time, it never flickered.
Could something be wrong?

^^^ Oh dear!Mine is now nearing 3300kms .2nd Service was over at 2600kms.

You can reset service indicator by pressing both buttons together for some 30 seconds or so.But ,I guess in Your Case ,the Light is Blinking Since 500-590kms are when the Bike is actually supposed to have First Service! hi hi.

Oh shucks I would never have guessed. Yeah, that should be the issue.

Shouldn't the service guys reset the system or something when they do the service so that this doesnt happen?

Thanks man.

Edit: Sorry Deep, missed your post. Thanks man. I will try to re set the service indicator. You seem to be really burning the roads dude, while I have been really crawling along

hehe what I was trying to say is that it aint that smart to get blocked in advance.

btw pressing buttons will bring you to Clock mode, the service light reset does not happen like this & if someone knows how to do it then please share

Btw I use 1 trip meter to track reserve to reserve & the 2nd one to track last service done i.e. I reset it at every service so I know how many kms ago the last service was done

I will confirm this in few days. But ,During 2 nd Free Service I remember the Service Advisor Resets the Service Remainder Indicator By pressing Both the buttons together.yeah,it has to be done when the Indicator is Blinking. My Experience with the "Mode" Button - It is Very stiff to press down.Try Pressing both together

About time.

Deepclutch is showing you the way sammy. (btw how many months have you had the bike now?) Maybe we can get you some record for slowest to 1k or something? ;-)

I've crossed 3700 on my stead and have passed my father's old Bajaj Spirit (which might be your closest competitor for that record) - we have had moped that for 4+ years.

Hi Abhay,

heh heh, join the bandwagon
I have had the bike for 5 months and 2 days now, got it on the 14th of July so yeah, I just may be the record holder for the Slowest 1K .

Going the way I am, I might just manage to squeeze in the 1K in 1 year. Howzzat for the record .. hee hee

Just to Clarify, I was not like this in younger days, did the 750 km service on my Splendor in 5 days when I was in college but this was back in 97

Hee hee yeah, just that those times riding the bike was the only work.
Now, work prevents me from riding. Late nights dont allow me to take the bike to office so I only ride on weekends now. Have been slowly increasing the bike usage and reducing car usage though. Lets see, hopefully Jan will be better

Happy New Year 2010

The bike had been lying unused until last week as I was out of town, but this year I have decided to be less lazy and use it more.

The Menace will be 6 months old this 14th, the Odo has crossed 600 kms now and should increase exponentially now(fingers crossed). And its time for the next service (though I am too embarassed to face the guys at Tristar).

So I began this week by taking the bike to office.

The interesting thing is, I have started looking forward to dense traffic cos it gives me a chance to take a detour from the main road and look for new roads. Yesterday, I was about a couple of kms from home (max) and I see traffic moving slowly. I shake my head, grin and take a 7 km detour to reach home. I would have reached home much faster had I taken the traffic filled route but I just couldnt

I have started enjoying the diesel smoke, the dust, the morons on TVS XT's trying to race with me.

Thank you guys, for kicking me into action. I am loving it.
