Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

The blue of the new Fiesta is one of the better colours on offer, true. But still, I somehow liked the less flashy but more metallic shade of blue that was offered on the previous Fiesta 1.6 S. Feel sad for it being discontinued :(

Re: Ford Fiesta : Test Drive & Review

Is the new Fiesta sedan still part of Ford India's future line up?

Why is it taking Ford so long to launch the car? Come on Ford, bite the bullet, let us know the price and give us demo cars for TD.

deetjohn,

I asked the same question to my friend who works for Ford and his answer was that Ford is going exactly as per the schedule they have decided on and they cannot change / bring forward the launch dates.

I remember that I read somewhere, maybe in Autocar's Thai Fiesta review, that the Indian version would have additional 15 mm GC due to high profile 15" tyres... so that makes it 170 mm, which is pretty decent !

Btw, got a call from Dehradun Ford executive yesterday that the demo Fiestas would be there in town by 3rd July... anxiously waiting for a TD

Any idea as to what is the exact schedule. Atleast they should not keep us all guessing while Verna and vento are raking in all the numbers. They should disclose a realistic date now so that the prospective buyers can hold on their decision in anticipation...

Last time I checked he said the launch will be in the second week of July and was very sure about it. I tried speaking with him just now but he is out of country. Will confirm the final date once I will be able to speak with him.

My booking receipt number is in the early '400' series. Have been told the delivery is expected by 4th week of July.

Yes, the date is not too far, only problem is I might be at the Bangalore office during that period.

No mdsaab, no test drive. My decision is based purely on 3 criteria :

1. I need a fuel efficient car (approx. 70 kms. of drive per day)
2. Good past experience with my diesel Fiesta
3. I have been bitten by the bug called "buy a new car"

all variants get standard ABS and dual airbags and the car comes with a 2 year / 100000 km warranty!
PS: Was told that some approval formalities yet to be done...consuming more time than expected. Not sure to what extent this is true

EDIT: Anyone here out has information whether NFS will be launched in this color (RED)

I can very well identify with the 2nd and 3rd points. Going through the same emotions now
No test drive is not surprising. I got a glimpse of the decision making process from the opening post of your short-lived thread. Hope it is getting baked at the right temp. in the assembly line. And I hope yours will be the first review of New Fiesta in Team-BHP!

The video below is quite informative - talks on the ground clearance, water wading capabilities etc.
