Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

The parcel tray is indeed available in the V variant that I saw while doing PDI today. Don't know much about other variants, the sales staff are too ignorant and arrogant to bear.

That is good then! My friend was indeed worried about the fact that whatever is there in the boot would be easily visible to everyone, in the absence of a parcel tray! He has booked a V MT variant! by the way, I guess you had booked through Whitefield Honda? This is from Magnum Honda, Mekhri Circle.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Today, I went for a test drive of Brio. I am planning to buy it for my homemaker wife for her occasional visits to market, etc., all within radius of 5 kms.

I am quire impressed with what Brio offers for its price. OTR price of Brio E-MT is Rs.4.24 Lakhs in Gurgaon.

One thing is sure that neither "Honda Siel" nor the dealer is interested in selling E-MT variant because of thin margins.

The sales executive is committing for March delivery (20-25 days) for S-MT or above variants but saying 3 months+ for E-MT.

I am also not in hurry, will try to get it early from some other sources, else give the booking amount to one of the dealers.

Can anyone confirm that all six colors are available in E-MT variant?

OT: Good to know that dealers are not including handling charges anymore after bashing from the courts.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

^Don't you think that that they have converted the handling charges into paint protection and anti-rust treatment charges?
Rs. 7500 for that for a hatchback? I hope that component is optional.

Of course that's optional and I have highlighted that in the image.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

Booked S-MT variant today.

I am buying 2 years extended warranty.

They are offering Road Side Assistance for around Rs.4,000/-. Should I buy it?

One more information, as per the sales executive, the new S-MT and above variants will come with parcel tray. Earlier it was not so. I have taken the same in writing from him.

What are the registration charges in Gurgaon ?

I hope the "handling charges" are not included in the registration charges mentioned.

In fact, they are still charging "handling charges" and made it hidden under registration charges (Rs.17,720/-).

Actual registration charges are Rs.8,700/- (2% of 435000/-). They have added Rs.400/- as number plate charges, Rs.100/- as HP charges (even if someone buys with cash) and Rs.8,520/- as "handling charges".

I have mentioned in the booking form that I will pay either Rs.8,700/- for registration, or I will get the registration done myself.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

I am fighting the same battle against Auto Max Honda for my Brio. So what are the charges :

Registration @ 4% = 17,400
Parking Charges = 4000
No Plate + Hp = 500

Total = Rs 21,900.

The asking amount is Rs 28,135. I have written to the dealer just now. Lets see what happens. You also please keep me posted.

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

My friend will book the V-MT tomorrow in Hyderabad! he mentioned an OTR or 6.14 or so! And when I asked him whether he is booking the "Green" color, he responded that it is NOT offered in India! I check the website and verified that green indeed in NOT offered in India. That's B-A-D !

What's the difference between Registration & Road Tax ? I thought it's the same!

There are illegally charging Rs.5,515/- as "handling charges". See Delhi price list for Brio. This price list is from Ring Road Honda and they are also charging Rs.28,135/- (S-MT) but they have different break-up than Automax Honda gave you.

According to the offcial website of Delhi Government (Welcome to Registrationdelhionline), total regn. charges of S-MT are Rs.22,120/- and the break up is:

R.Tax 17400
Hypo Fee 100
Reg.Fee 200
Parking Fee 4000
Smart card charges 420 (50+370) taken from (http://www.delhi.gov.in/wps/wcm/conn...+registration/)

Total - Rs.22,120/-

They can be allowed to add Rs.400/- for number plate but even after that, Rs.5,615/- are the hidden charges which should not be charged by dealers.

I am sorry but I have not seen this type of charge before.

Is this specific to dealer or location or to Honda?

Re: Honda Brio : Test Drive & Review

This is charged by the govt, MCD in this case. Nothing fishy, its generally included in the overall registration charges (along with illegal components like handling)

AFAIK there is no parking tax/charges in Gurgaon. Get your car self registered, ask the dealer to give you the complete file, submit it yourself & pick the RC after 15-20days(use the receipt till then).
