Neutral pricing. Nothing groundbreaking but not expensive either. safe play by GM

Re: Chevrolet Sail U-VA : Official Review

Just as a comparison. Each variant is 60K more than the Figo.

Top end Figo Diesel (Titanium) is 5.99L whereas Sail is 6.62.

Figo ZXI is 5.51 but has no ABS and airbags. Sail UVA mid variant is 6.19L. If this has ABS and airbags then this model is really good VFM.

Am i seeing it correctly, All the Models Except Petrol Base has Driver Airbag. Rs 6.19 Lakh Diesel model has Driver airbag, ABS as well as infotainment bluetooth et al. So not just that the cage/Car has a 4-Star C-NCAP but also almost all the models are packed with safety features. Good Move. LS ABS seems the Model which can be the most VFM.

I am one of the prospective buyers of LT Diesel. But the price for the top end model seems higher. With 6.62L ex-show room, the onroad price in Pune will be close to 8L, I mean in the Swift category. Assuming GM does not have a good brand value in India, I feel the LT diesel almost 30-40K pricier.

Some how I felt these pricing are higher by at least 20K-30K for each model. I am comparing this with Ritz

LS ABS is 20K more than the Figo Titanium. Compared to the Figo you lose:

1. Alloy wheels
2. Rear wiper/ defogger
3. Passenger airbag
4. remote keyless entry

In return you get the better MJD engine.

Re: Chevrolet Sail U-VA : Official Review

I personally believe that this is fantastic pricing.

Up till now, there was no diesel car (apart from the Ford Figo) that was actually value-for-money! The Etios Liva offers a similar package but does not come with crucial equipment, and yet it's priced at a whooping 7.5 lakhs OTR Bangalore. The Figo is just above the 7 lakh mark.

The Sail being a better appointed car than the Liva, better riding than the Figo and about as spacious as the Jazz (not to mention the fact that it's powered by a more modern silent and refined unit than the two) is priced well.

Asking for it to be even cheaper is asking for too much IMO.

And better ride quality and more space inside! Well worth the 60k premium if you ask me!

Re: Chevrolet Sail U-VA : Official Review

Lets look at the on-road prices in Pune:

Liva GD SP: 7.01L (includes 20K festive discount, no accesories, not even mud flap)
New Figo TDCI Titanium: 7.14L (no discount)
Swift ZDI: 8.08L (no discount)
SAIL LT: Approximately 7.85 to 7.9L

Its now upto the individual to see if it is VFM. Anyways, I am going to test drive it at the earliest.

Re: Chevrolet Sail U-VA : Official Review

The following information was added to / updated in the review:

Quote:

Safety wise, the top variant we drove had ABS and 2 airbags as part of its kit. All of the Sail's variants (barring the petrol base variant) get a driver's airbag! ABS is provided on the top two variants of each engine.

The Sail U-VA is available in 7 colours: Black, Grey, Silver, White, Beige, Red and 'Mistly Lake'.

• As with other Chevrolet cars, warranty coverage is for 3 years / 100,000 kms. The drive-train is covered for 5 years / 150,000 kms!

• 'Chevrolet Promise' is a paid option for 3 years / 45,000 kms. This includes all parts except tyres, battery and accidents.

Nice pricing! Right in the mix.

Good to see Chevy adding ABS to the variant names.

Re: Chevrolet Sail U-VA : Official Review

Features now updated on website as well

http://www.chevrolet.co.in/vehicles/...nvenience.html

LS ABS seems like a good deal. LS is priced only 35k less, but loses out on music system and ABS.

Petrol base seems like is a price lead-in, like Liva's 'J' variant, but thankfully has power steering.

Also diesel's fuel tank capacity is 2 litres less than petrol's - 40 vs 42 litres. Quite strange!

ARAI mileage also quite good for a car weighing in at 1065 kgs (P) & 1134 (D) - 18.20 kmpl petrol & 22.10 kmpl diesel.

Is this Engine Warranty of 150K KM/5 years without any additional charge is is covered by Extended Warranty? I don't remember any other Cheve car offering this type of Engine Warranty. when I went to buy UVA this Extended Warranty was available but i did not buy it and many customer's may not buy it even now if it is coming with additional price. Also at what price that the 'chevrolet Promise Cashless' scheme is available on this car? What about price for metallic colours?
