According to him because of the glow plug production was stalled and hence the delay. He has not clue as to whether he will be able to deliver the car in next 2 months. Pretty bad. I'm serious thinking to cancel my booking and have really no options in lieu. Advise folks.
If you are looking for a Diesel car, EcoSport perfectly fits your bill. I suggest you to wait ONLY IF you dealer can commit to the delivery in a few 'x' months. I think the production gets ramped up, and the demand subsides in the next few months resulting in speedier deliveries. If the promises are vague, scoot!

Duster already facing the heat?? The sales figure for July is at low 3K. I think it was hovering around 5K for earlier months .

Thank you for the information!

This goes in without any modification right?
And did you come across any bulbs from philips portfolio with blue lighting with the same specs while researching?

Yes, this goes without any modification
I've heard that Philips has the blue tinted ones also. But I guess it's illegal to use them.
I do feel this one is good for all practical purposes

The slightly blue tinted ones are illegal? Really wasn't aware of that.
hmm okay will let you know as soon as I buy and test these.

And did you go for any aftermarket accessory?
Do you have any contacts for the same?
Sorry to disturb you again

The Blue ones aren't really illegal, unless and until you don't opt for higher wattage ones. As long as you're in prescribed range of 55/60 w its okay to use them.

But blue bulbs aren't actually practical, have used them they are pretty much useless in rains, the normal yellow ones are more practical.

msmatic, Lathangi Ford has a Mars Red 1.5 Petrol only for display. No test drives have been allowed from Ford India as of now. I was simply lucky to have driven it. It carries a TN Regn with the number 1851(I guess) . And all the three times I was there, I saw one 1.5 Petrol vehicle each time getting ready to get delivered on their respective next day. When the car comes to the dealership from their stockyard, it comes with an A3 size board inside on the dashboard, visible from outside glass, mentioning the name of the owner and date of delivery. So, I've seen Sea Grey, Diamond White and Kinetic Blue vehicles which were ready for delivery on three different days of my visit. I read all their names, but dont remember any. Other than that, I've seen a Mars Red 1.5 Petrol on the road already near Banashankari Ring Road.

So, dont worry. The 1.5L Petrol is in existence. Just that the deliveries are not as quick as the diesel ones. Ratio of bookings for P is roughly 70:30 . So every 10 cars you see on road, only 3 would be Petrol ones. When I asked them why 1.5P is not available for TD, I got a response saying that they want to push the EcoBoost engine as much as they can since its an imported engine. Ford would be much more recognized if they can make a success from an all new imported engine in the local market rather than an engine that's old and similar to the Fiesta's engine. Once the Ecoboost becomes a success, it'll start raining 1.5 Petrols anyway. They want all those people who are confused whether to take the 1.5P or the 1L to fall towards the 1L bucket.

Maybe its a good idea to get this covered by 3M VentureShield Paint Protection Film which is transparent. It is available at all 3M Car Care outlets.

Dats unlike them
They tried selling every thing in their warehouse...
And also the high priced Teflon coating which I subsequently got it done from the near by maruti dealership at 40% of the cost.

I was just going through classifieds on carwale.com and saw a petrol 1.5 ambiente ecosport with 140 kms on odo for sale. The price quoted is 6.55. Probably, first ecosport in india, which will see 2nd owner.

Those who are interested, go to carwale.com home page, in used cars, choose new delhi as city and the first listing will be the one.
