Congratulations on picking up the GT Edge MT; you're very lucky indeed! I'm now into my fourth month of waiting for this specific model with no end in sight. Sigh!

Even I was planning to get the ceramic coating done once I get hold of the vehicle. Just curious, with the ceramic protection, how often do you wash your car, and do you follow the waterless wash procedure?

Commiserations on the rat attack and the poor after-sales support. I've already experienced a pretty stressful booking experience with both the dealer and VW customer care (ambiguous communication, information gap between the local dealers, regional managers, and the factory, etc.) and the longer this wait goes on, the more I wonder if I should be pursuing a vehicle from an auto stable with such shoddy service standards. Still think it's a dream of a vehicle and that's why I'm holding out.

Hi Wokewagon,
I also waited almost 3 months to get the Black GT.

Ceramic coating (not Graphene) was done just after delivery. Post that I am cleaning the car everyday with Jopasu car duster and once a week clean it with water.

Also, in last 1.5 months I've got two foam washes for the car as we traveled for long journeys during rains (tons of mud and muck).

To your point of Virtus GT being a dream vehicle, its the same for me. But after experiencing the lethargic and careless after sales service attitude, I might not be a brand advocate. Verna is equally good in many terms (better features) and may have more peaceful ownership experience. But yeah - up to you to do one more evaluation.

OT - At some point of time Amber stopped enticing Johnny ... right.

Thanks,
AB

Use the rear USB ports to power a dashcam since there are wired to ignition (that's the case in my Slavia).

Both front USB-C ports as well are ignition powered in Virtus.

Ha! Food for thought certainly, but somehow, I feel very conflicted about the Verna's looks. But regardless, apppreciate the insight and here's hoping your ordeal is resolved soon enough.

........I must say - I have witnessed multiple vehicle breakdowns in past, this seems easiest but turned out to be worst.
.....

2. Chain failure (Enfield) in the Nagarhole Tiger Reserve (Wayanad to Bangalore). Mechanic rode from Mysore and fixed it (make-shift, but worked). Bike breakdown at 5:30 PM, we started riding back at 11PM in night (TAT in 6:30 hours).
..........
Off topic, but you really aroused my curiosity. Your bike broke down at 5.30 PM inside a tiger reserve and you fixed it and rode back at nite 11 PM? That must have been a helluva adventure and adrenaline rush.

Anyways, it's better to have a good relationship with your FNG, preferably from the VAG group. I know one in Thiruneermalai. Message me if interested and I'll share details. All you need is to start the vehicle and take it to the workshop.

All USB ports are powered by Ignition and front ones can stay on until the infotainment is On. Only the 12V socket is always on until battery reaches a critical level after which that also turns off.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

Hi, Does anyone has a contact in Delhi NCR that can provide year end discounts for Virtus top end model? Despite such news and marketing of discounts, dealers doesn't seem to have any inventory, and no discounts?

I could be wrong, but think you'd be hard-pressed to find discounts on the GT variants. The few dealers I've spoken to across South India have told me that the year-end discounts are only for the Comfortline/Highline/Topline MY23 variants.

I got it repaired under warranty, didn't have to spend any money. It took some time for them to locate the sources of errors and do fixes though. The car was in the service station for a couple of days. I was not in a hurry as well, so I requested them to do a complete check and return the car only after being 100% sure that everything is fixed. Overall a very smooth experience, and very professionally done by the VW service center.

Re: Volkswagen Virtus Review

I wanted to check if anyone else is facing any issues with Apple car play in the infotainment system. I have been experiencing this issue for a few weeks now- Apple car play goes off all of a sudden and the music stops too. Basically, the phone gets disconnected from the infotainment system. The infotainment screen glitches too as it freezes for a few minutes and none of the controls work. It’s quite annoying especially when I am using Google maps and need help with directions.
Has anyone else faced a similar issue and found a solution?

MY 2023 topline models are almost sold out. I also enquired about. You can try VW Paschim Vihar dealer for MY 2024 models. I can share the contacts details of the sales person I am in touch with.

So VW Service Centre is trying to resolve this for me. So far they have tried swapping suspension, boot lock, spring, sub frame for last 2 days but are not able to figure out the issue. @tsi_niks, is your sound gone?

Vividhavashthi's issue is bit different because he had cobra spring installed so the mount support issue fixed it. I saw the stock mount and they are same in all cars still mine is making this sound. I thought to give them to fix it during my 1st yr service. 2nd day today and no cause found yet.
Now thinking if it was a good idea to give them to disassemble my car not knowing what to fix

The mount support pic with shocker below.Volkswagen Virtus Review-20231227_152027.jpg

Hi,

It was present after the car came back from first annual service, they asked to run the car and record the sound when it comes again in order to further check. However I have not heard anything in last two months somehow it seems to be gone automatically.
