Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Got my second service done, and its a mixed experience with Mahindra ASC. My Scorpio-N has a very weird sound coming from the engine bay around 100kmph. A sound similar to wheel bearing sound, but it disappears as soon as I cross 110kmph. Mahindra has not been able to track it till now. I have lost hope.

I have shared all my details regarding the second service in this teambhp link. Please have a look. Should be beneficial for any one taking the car for service to Mahindra ASC.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Hi Scorpio N owners, please share contact for any vendor who can provide ready-to-fit snow chains for Scorpio N. I am looking to get snow chain for 18" tyres with stock 255/60/R18 profile.
I searched in Amazon and found this product
Does this product work as expected? Any first hand feedback will be very helpful.

I tried the slimmer version of these (like zip ties), but they snapped within seconds. I don't think the wider straps are very much better either - check out this video of someone reviewing them - start watching at around the 07:20 mark.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

I was on way to Mahabaleshwar when my def level sensor went on strike near Pune. Note that a restart is not allowed if you don't have DEF in your vehicle.

I directly went to Wakad workshop. I asked for a replacement, but the sensor (along with the tank) wasn’t in stock. The service guy cleared the DTCs and removed the battery and reconnected it. Viola, all was ok again.

Fab response by the on ground team esp the Service Head & the Customer care manager. They had offered to help out with a cab & drop the car off at Mahabaleshwar in case the concern was not resolved.

I had my family with me (parents, wife, toddler). All of them felt comfortable waiting for 30-45 mins until we finished the trouble shooting.

It has been 2k km since the event & all seems to be good for now.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Query to all fellow Scorpio-N owners. Has anyone experienced any oil spill/presence in the front charging port area (which is just in front of the gear selector where you can keep mobile)?

I am a bit confused on where could oil come in that area. Is there any source of oil near it?

Planning to take it to service center tomorrow as my 20K service is due. During my 10K service also I noticed this same oil spill, and when I reported it to service center, they got it checked by a technician, and he couldn't find anything. So, they brushed it off saying it could be some residue of polish which might have been applied at the time of delivery and went unnoticed till now. Post 10K service I keep checking that area for about 1000 kms, but no oil spill was noticed, so I left it. But today again at 20K, I see same thing.

Are you the only driver of the car or someone else drives it as well? If others drive it then it's possible that they might have kept something oily there.
Also if food is being consumed in the car then that can be a source of the issue.
Does the oil smell like cooking oil or like what we put in cars?
Open the bonnet and try to see what parts are behind the place where you see the oil. May be you will locate the source.

These are just things you can try at your end.

I am the only driver and no one is allowed to consume food inside.

The oil doesn’t have any odour. One possibility is the rubber mat which I bought as an accessory, might be releasing oil while being parked outside due to heat.

We had a similar problem in my wife’s car. The culprit was the tiny perfume bottle hanging from the IRVM. Strangely that spilled oil was odourless, but it used to fall on a button on the entertainment console, which was rendered useless.

Any update from service center?

Coincidentally today I noticed same oily substance present in my Scorpio N's mobile pocket as well. I hang Campure cone on mirror but it could not be residue of that as oily substance has no smell.

My 10K service is due next month and will ask service center about this issue. For now in have cleaned it and will keep observing regularly

This is exactly what I noticed in my vehicle. I showed it to service center, and as expected they have no clue of what could be the reason. They say that there is no source of oil near that area. Gear selector only has grease and it could not come to this compartment. I got them lift the vehicle and checked everything, and there is no leaks anywhere below the vehicle (though I don't think those leaks could end up in this area).

I didn't want them to do any further detailed analysis by dismantling my center console to find the source, as I have zero confidence in them putting it back together without messing up something. Couple of people I know who own Scorpio-N mentioned this could be due to those rubber mats melting due to heat, so as of now I cleaned the area, removed the mats, and will monitor this for some time. If it persists, then will take it service center and let them do whatever they want with the vehicle to find the source

I had a godrej aer hanging perfume too, which I have removed as well. But again, I don't think this could be the source, as it has very strong odour, so any liquid coming from it could also have odour.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

Are both the cars parked in the open under direct sun? If they are in covered parking then something melting and leaving behind oil like substance can't be the reason.

I have observed similar occurrences. It only happens with AC on. It's not exactly oily. Is it just condensation?

No it was a sticky odour less transperant substance.

The day I noticed this substance my car was parked in open ground under the sun whole day.
Otherwise regularly she is parked in covered parking.

So now I will be checking if this oily substance reappear in covered parking/under the sun and with/without rubber mat

Re: Mahindra Scorpio-N Review

This is due to the oil released by the small rubber mats, nothing to worry.
You can remove those mats for few days and check.

Scorpio N Upgrades and Accessories

Hello to all respected members of this forum, this is my first major post, so I request the moderators to move it to the right section of this forum if I have posted it wrongly.

I bought the Scorpio N Z8L Petrol AT in March 2023, I have covered roughly 27000 kms till now. I haven't added alot of accessories yet but I am planning to add some more.

Accessories installed:

1) Floor Mats: bought from the dealership at the time of delivery. Costed about 10k

2) Scratch guards (front and rear bumper)

3) Metal pedal covers

4) Tyre pump: Funnily I don't what brand or model are they as they were gifted to me by my uncle, planning on upgrading it.

I wanted to ask if there a grill with 'Scorpio N' written on it with LED like there was for the original Scorpio? Kindly suggest any other accessories that I should get for my car?
