Well, this is a standalone scenario, but in my hometown, the dealer has a practice of not doing service items as diligently if the items are covered under SoT, as against doing them as per rulebook if I am paying cash.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Review

Hi Friends,

I have booked the SX O automatic petrol variant and the delivery is expected in sometime soon. The dealer has asked me to initiate the insurance procedure wherein the showroom is quoting 59K+. I also got a quote from Acko insurance covering the same as per the dealer and the price comes to 35k odd. One of my friend mentioned that he faced issues in quality of service with Hyundai in Madurai, since he had taken the insurance from outside. Kindly guide me on this, whether I should go with the dealer to avoid any hassles while servicing or should I go for an outside insurance.

Further details as below:
Dealer - HMP Hyundai, Ekkaduthangal, guindy (Company showroom)
Features provided by the showroom in the insurance (same covered by Acko):
1. Zero depreciation
2. Rodent cover
3. Key loss
4. Loss of personal belonging
5. Salvage deduction
6. Engine protection
7. Consumables cover
8. Return to invoice

Thank you.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Review

Congratulations on your new booking and my exact same steed is arriving this week !

In my case, I personally found it easier to just keep to Hyundai insurance and negotiate with the dealer over discount.

After negotiations, I got a discount of 25k (for a quoted price of 70k) and am essentially paying 5k more than outside insurance. I have made my peace over paying that small surcharge for an easier processing later.

Thank you.
Check what companies are serviced cashless and then get a quote independently from these companies. You can then ask the dealer to match the quote or tell him that you wish to purchase on your own. Its always good to stay with in the list of these companies as the service team will be already having an engagement with the surveyors of these companies.

First thing to check is whether Acko has cashless tie up with the ASC of your choice. Otherwise look for established insurers who have cashless tie up and wider network coverage. Usually speed of survey, claim scope approval, opening of job card, repair work completion and paper work formalities depends on the insurance company tie up and relationship with the service center. Please remember that cheap option may not always be the best. Please do you own research before finalizing outside insurance.

You can negotiate with the dealer to bring down the quote. If the difference is only marginal, I'd recommend going with dealer insurance for the first year for peace of mind.
Depending on your experience, you can revert to another insurer in next year.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Review

Congratulations on your new purchase! I have also booked S(O) IVT and will get the delivery by March end.
Regarding your question of insurance policy, you can negotiate with them if you get some quotation from outside and they will match it for sure. I personally did that. I was quoted 77k (with engine protection, return to invoice and few more). But I got a quotation for around 50k from outside having all the add-ons offered by Hyundai dealer. They happily agreed to match it.
For essential accessories also, if you want to get them from dealer, you can negotiate with them and they will agree to it.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Review

Hyundai Creta facelift waiting period stretches to 6 months

It’s been two months since the launch of the Hyundai Creta facelift, and already, the SUV commands a long waiting period. The Creta diesel automatic variants have the highest waiting period.

2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Review-2024_hyundai_creta_facelift_exterior_05.jpg

According to Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai India, out of the total bookings, 90% are for the mid-spec and top-spec variants, while 43% of buyers opted for the diesel version. As a result, the waiting period for a Creta diesel has reached 6 months.

The petrol variants of the Creta have the lowest waiting times. According to the company, customers can expect delivery of their vehicles in about 2 months. The waiting period for the turbo-petrol variants though, is slightly longer.

Hyundai has ramped up its production capacity, adding 50,000 units per annum. The factory now has a total capacity of 8,25,000 units and is said to be operating at 95% of its capacity. With the addition of the new Talegaon plant, Hyundai’s total production capacity is expected to reach 10 lakh units per annum.

The month of February saw the highest-ever Creta sales in India. Hyundai sold 15,276 units of the Creta last month.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Review

Booked Creta Facelift S(O) IVT

Reasons to buy new car:

Currently I own Swift (Vxi-2014). It was my first car and it has served me very well till date. I had never driven any car till that time in my life. But Swift has proven itself beyond words and expectations. I have driven it all across Maharashtra and has clocked 80k kilometers so far (70% city + rest highways) and believe me and fortunately it has not broken down for any reason so far. It has gone to service centers only for regular servicing, nothing else. I always filled Nitrogen and was regularly checking tire pressure every two weeks. Result, tires had just 2 punctures in their whole life.

It had Bridgestone tires which I changed to Yokohama ones after 60k. Battery was changed twice after 4th and 8th year. Stock headlights replaced with projector ones.

I still love this car very much. But now with so many advanced cars in market with so many features and wanting to experience something new, I decided to go to market to search new car.

Requirement for new car

1. Has to be a automatic one. With heavy traffic in Pune specially from last 2-3 years, automatic would be a good choice.
2. Refined engine, reliable car, good after sales service. Should give decent mileage specially in city.
3. Need to have all possible safety features and good lifestyle features.
4. A more powerful engine, good suspension, low maintenance, good back seat space to accommodate 3 medium sized adults.
5. Driving should be enjoyable, fatigue free on long journeys.

Cars considered and reasons for rejection

1. Kushaq and Taigun 1.0 TSI- Rejected because
a) Limited back seat space
b) 3 cylinder turbo engine. Not a fan of turbo charged engines personally.
c) Not so reliable after sales service (experience may differ for individuals/cities but did not want to take chances). Costly spares/availability of spares.

2. Grand Vitata/Hyryder Mild Hybrid - Rejected because
a) I went to Nexa showroom. But as soon as I entered the GV, the interiors made not so positive impression on me. It reminded me of 10 year old Swift. The rear design is more beautiful than from facia. Plus zeta smart hybrid AT does not have rear seat arm-rest which is present in top model but it costs around 20L otr pune. So skipped it and Hyryder as well.

3. MG Astor - Rejected because
a) Lack of adequate rear seat space
b) Not so positive reviews about fuel efficiency.

4. Nexon - I was very much looking for Nexon facelift even though it is a category down to above ones. But
a) Petrol DCA was costing around 17L otr pune
b) QC related issues and some not-so-inspiring experiences heard about it on team-bhp forum. After sales service is still a lot to be improved. The experience may not be same for all dealers/cities but did not want to take risk if I am going to pay so much for a new car. One of my close friend have purchased Harrier last year and he is already cursing himself because of both QC issues and after sales service issues. Not anything against Tatas or the owners.

5. Seltos - Had a test drive of Seltos IVT HTX. But decided to wait for Creta facelift. Seltos costs around 1L more for its HTX ivt model than Creta facelift s(o) ivt and it does not have the rear seat arm-rest. Also from various sources learnt that it still has somewhat stiffer suspension. Creta has somewhat softer suspension compared to it.

6. New Verna - Liked the interiors very well. Was eager for it as it has got 5-star GNCAP rating. But the low GC and the front and rear looks went against it.

So, it left only Creta as the option for me. I did not want a turbo-charged engine or DCT gearbox for issues heard on different platform and did not want any complications with engine or gearbox/clutch technologies. Had checked Nexon DCA as their AMT is not good.

Creta TD to Booking

Went to nearby Hyundai showroom with wife and daughter. Got the chance to see Sx(O) manual in black color. Wife and daughter instantly liked it for its interiors, features, audio system quality, panoramic sun-roof. I wanted to see and have test drive of S(O) ivt only as that was the one I was going to buy. The SA was quite friendly as he readily agreed to take us to stockyard which is near by from the showroom.

We went there and got the chance to check the one which we were looking for. The dashboard layout, the beautiful looking center console with Electric parking brake, Auto-hold and premium looking gear lever with multiple drive modes. We played some music there and were quite happy with the output. It has 4 speakers and 2 twitters. The output was quite good for our choice.

By the time we reached back to showroom the SA had arranged Sx(O) ivt for test drive. It was my first time to drive an automatic car. The SA allowed me to take quite a long test drive in which I used all driving modes, paddle shifter, manual mode, auto-mode. Experienced the rubber band effect as well when I tried to accelerate it hard. I took to to one of the nearby open ground. It had quite uneven surface. Drove there a bit fast to test suspension and ground clearance, drove it a bit fast on speed-brakers but the Creta behaved excellently and proved itself. Came back happily to the showroom.

The ivt gave good response if we accelerate is gradually. Gear shifting is smooth with gradual acceleration, paddle shifters are also good and one can enjoy manual mode as well.

Checked the engine bay, bonnet. It felt heavy and as reported by one of the team-bhpian, it weighs more now. As per the steel structure demoed by Hyundai, it seems that they might have improved the build quality by using high strength steel with facelift model. But they need to prove it by testing it. Also new Verna being a 5-star rated, we may see some good result for Creta as well.

The decision was made final. Daughter was happy and excited to have such a big sunroof. Black color choice was of daughter. Wifey was happy with the interiors and spaciness and overall good feeling of being in a Creta. One may not like the interior theme in the first look but believe me you will start liking it once you start spending time in it.

Things I did not like in Creta

The HVAC panel looks misfit to the overall interior and dashboard theme.
Also, Hyundai should have provided soft-touch foam layer on dashboard, door panels at this price point. Few car manufacturers are already providing it in this category.

We want it to be delivered on Gudi-padwa (9th April), the Maharashtrian new year but SA could not assure us to deliver it by that time. So next day, I went to another dealer who assured to deliver it by that time. Had a long discussion with the new dealer SA and his boss. They agreed to give insurance at around 50k from 77k which they had originally quoted. Took it from them only as I did not want any hassle if at all I have to claim it in future. They also agreed to give quite a good deal on essential accessories.

Opted for additional two years extended warranty. Did not opt for SoT (shield of trust). Did not opt for any exterior/under body coating. Opted for leatherette seat covers as I liked the material they are using. Leatherette steering cover as the S(O) does not come with any, 7D mats, mudflaps, side cladding. Got a good deal from the dealer for these items.

For seat covers, the front seat covers will have their door facing side open so as not to obstruct airbags. There will be elastic bands at the top and bottom of the open ends so that they do not look shabby. The elastic bands will also not obstruct opening of airbags in case it happens. Will share the pics of the seat covers once I get the delivery.

This is my first story on the forum and new experience to share the booking of a new car on team-bhp and was really excited the journey so far... Apologies if it is very long..

+1, it looks so out of place in a very nicely upgraded car, unforgivable.

I was walking next to parked Hyundai car from rear to front. Thought, man the Venue looks really spacious in rear seat and then in the front. Then it occurred to me its the new Creta

However, I found in above observation of yours. Seltos does get the rear armrest in HTX variant too.

Re: 2024 Hyundai Creta Facelift Review

I booked an SX(O) IVT trim from Trident. Has anybody been able to negotiate the insurance component with Trident Hyundai, Hosur Road, Bangalore? They are hard to bargain and are not ready for any discounts. Also, they are charging 500 for Fastag. Can I purchase it from outside or since it's a new car purchase I need to go through the dealer only. The SA mentioned it's compulsory to get it from them.

Also wanted to understand the actual effectiveness of accessories like door edge guards, door claddings, door visors(for rain I guess), and skid extenders in actually preventing or minimizing minor scratches and dents. Are these worthwhile investments? Are there any other practically useful accessories that the members here would recommend?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Creta has a 6 months waiting period. So why would they give you any discounts? As long as they are matching outside insurance and not insisting on additional accessories, you should be good.

I dealt with them 7 years ago for my Gen 1 Creta ( had a 1 month waiting list then ) and found them reasonable. They matched the outside insurance quote and also helped me transfer the NCB from previous car. Of course, not a single rupee discount on anything else.

Get an insurance quote from policybazaar or some agent you know and ask the dealership to match it.

You can get the fastag yourself, don't let them pressure you to take it from them.
