A pristine example of brilliant ownership and love towards the car. Must say this couple is truly a class apart when it comes to buying a car. In the era when people sell Fiats and buy some new generation tin boxes, they have set an example of their own. And needless to say hats off to them for maintaining the car so well.

Bangalore boys, here is a seemingly neat and original 68-71 Delight. Familiar?

Karl : Never seen this car. Hope its safe somewhere. You are too good in finding old pics!

My 5yrs old Niece was digging some old pics. Suddenly she comes to me and says"Mama see your Fiat!" Aah I am so excited. I had totally forgotten about this pic!

My Dad's Fiat was 1 year old, not me! Fiat is 1991 model. I was around 8yr old then.

Even I was wondering how you could be 1 year old. Amazing picture this is. Since how long and who put that "Arun" sticker on the rear glass?

The sticker was put on the glass when the FIAT(not me!) was one week old. I used to love the FIAT so much even at that age that my sister's friend crafted my name and stuck it. The sticker is well intact even today.

Wah wah! An original car with a hand crafted original sticker! Hats off for still maintaining that sticker

Very good observation.

The photoshoot was obviously planned. Couldn't afford to keep clicking pics like we do these days.

The car was neatly washed for the photoshoot. The glasses were opened to the same height so that the doll hanging to the the mirror was seen!:-) My sister(the one who clicked the pic) had prepared the doll with cotton! Also see that I have neatly dressed up early in the morning for the photoshoot. He he.

I can keep telling about this Fiat and mine relationship stories. Will tell the whole story in the restoration thread!

You mean your dad's padmini?

I will post some high resolution pics. I am sure it is some '88 model or so. So I really doubt if it had the quarter glass.
I remember this grille came around early/mid 80s- the grille I bought and also another one that unfortunately was broken, was fitted on cars with the quarter-glasses. Plus I've seen similar models in a mid 80s Hindi movie. Maybe it continued on the later ('87-88) models too.

RESTORATION Cool, when are you going to start, am waiting from more than a year now. Waiting made me so mad that I ended up restoring my own car .

Please start soon, 297 should be like sports. Let 331 be classic.

I disagree. Arun should his family car 297 completely original and stock and use sparingly and make it like a pet collectible. It's not just a family car, its a member too. The cars sentiment shouldnt be hurt by modding it. 331 is to experiment like delighting it or making it sporty.
