swift will do just fine. take this route:
bangalore > srirangapatna > hunsur > tittimatti > gonikoppal > virajpet > kadnur (just outskirts of v.pet, make a left) > kakabbe > kings cottage

road till virajpet is really good. only last stretch of maybe 25-30kms is bad (in patches) after the heavy rains this year.

NIP,
Would you by any chance know the state of the road to Tata Coffee's 'Plantation Trails' homestay at Polibetta?
I believe I will have to follow your route all the way till Titlimati on SH88A and then turn right on a smaller road for about 15 km.

Jaggu,
Have you done the trip yet?

Thanks,
ItWasntMe

nope...its been a while since i've been to polybetta. but after the rains this year, most interior coorg roads have taken a beating. about directions, just reach tittimatti and ask for the right turn. you can miss it if you're doing good speed...

Thanks NIP. I will check with Tata themselves about the Titlimati and Gonikoppal roads.

Checked with the Tata guys: Gonikoppal - Polybetta road is a better bet than Titlimati Polybetta. Generally Coorg's internal roads have taken a beating due to the monsoons but patchwork repair has started since.

well so if you're gonna hit gonikoppal, you can tank up at the reliance bunk there. its just half km off the main road (ponnampet rd.). i usually go there. you can tank up on shell on your exit from bangalore and tank up at gonikoppal reliance for your next fill.
