Re: Tirumala / Tirupati Seegradarshanam query

Hi all,

I am looking for a good hotel recommendation at Tirupathi on 3rd Oct. I have a seegradarshanam booking on 4th Oct at 1 PM, so planning to drive from Bangalore on 3rd evening and stay overnight at Tirupathi and head to Tirumala on 4th morning.

Few questions/clarifications needed, it would be great if someone can help.

1) Tonsure - I will be tonsuring, will there be bathrooms available ?

2) Stay at Tirumala - Since my darshan is at 1 PM, should I need an accommodation for 4-5 hrs?

3) Parking space - Will there be any parking space near Seegradarshan entry?

Thanks

For Tirupati overnight stay, not sure what is your budget. However, you can stay in a Homestay which is more safer with less people around. But food you have to manage outside for dinner and breakfast. Check in booking.com site. Else, you can stay in Pai viceroy or Bhimas Residency, if your budget permits. There are many other medium/small accommodations too, but its a gamble due to covid precautions and hygiene. Check in goibibo site which provides details on their safety practices, but that said, take it with a pinch of salt.

To answer your questions
1) Yes, there are bathrooms available right next to the tonsuring place. They provide hot water too.
2) I don't think so. YOu don't need to stay in Tirumala.
3) There are plenty. Please see few posts below and we recommended a parking lot google maps link.

Had a fantastic darshan. Had to wait in the queue complex due to Kalyanotsavam break darshan. After that, it took us 15 minutes to enter the main sanctorum. Great darshan. The queue inside the temple was devoid of staff trying to push you. The famous "jarugandi" was missing
Now, Waiting for the next trip.

First and foremost You can always drop into Tirupati and get a room for yourselves and you can follow the recommendations from @ravib above.

But, if you want to enjoy your trip to Tirumala, you have to stay there. That will be an awesome experience.

The accommodation quota is still not released for the October Month and I guess should be available by tomorrow. Try to get the room at Tirumala by logging in at https://tirupatibalaji.ap.gov.in/#/accommodationCal and opt the 18:00 hrs to 23:59 hrs check-in slot. This will give time until 5 PM next day. Show the ticket at the ticket scanning center in the Tirumala Tollgate @alipiri, while they do the luggage scan. You will get the SMS for room allotment.

Check this link too for alternate arrangement

Drive straight to Tirumala, Collect the room, if time permits, you can have the head tonsure by evening or roam across Tirumala and enjoy the fabulous climate. Food, you anyways have the free food available till 10 PM.

Thanks. I booked in Pai Viceroy on 3rd. For 4th, i will check the TTD site or ring up Vyasaraja mutt for booking. If it is not available, that should be OK too.

Hi, those who have made trips in current and last month, can you pls let me know if it's mandatory to produce the jab certificate or RtPcr? Do they check it?

We had our darshan on Sunday. I was not asked for the certificate, but I was carrying it anyway.
Better safe than sorry.

Re: Tirumala / Tirupati Seegradarshanam query

Had a good darshan on Friday through 300 rs special entry. Took about 20 minutes from the entry till darshan with no waiting in line (just kept walking) except for a couple of minutes just before entering the sannidhi.

Darshan waiting times seem to be the lowest in recent years given the limited tickets being issued.

The ticket instructions said vaccination certificate or RT PCR to be carried but there was no checking anywhere.

Only concern is improper use of masks

Re: Tirumala / Tirupati Seegradarshanam query

What time was your Darshan slot? I spent 60+ mins for the entire process over the last two visits, not so long ago. This was even when there was no Sarvadarshan queue. I generally book the 11 am slot because it’s convenient to reach there by by then from Blr. I’m thinking that it’s perhaps a very crowded slot.

This was the 12 noon slot on the day after Deepavali - Friday 5th November (Crowd was probably lesser due to this). We were allowed inside the SED entry point at 11.15 and by 11.45 we had completed the Darshan and exited the inner temple

During the last few visits, they put us in the waiting room for 60 to 75 minutes. Overall darshan took 1.5 to 2 hours after entering VQC.

Re: Tirumala / Tirupati Seegradarshanam query

I had a fantastic trip today. Left home (Kanakpura Road Nice) at 5.40 am and I parked at Annamaiyya Bhavan at 10.15 am with just a 15 mins break in between.

It took more than 20 minutes to get past thr Alipiri security followed by the compulsory slow drive up the hill.

We entered the SED queue at 10.35 and we were done with our Ladoo buying by 12.15. It was indeed quick this time.

With the opening of the ‘SarvaDarshan’ slots, be ready to get jostled and pushed around right about the time where we enter the main building. It does slows down the movements.

No one asked for vaccination certificates. People were very casual with their masks. People are back to using your shoulders to rest their palms in the queue from behind. Back to how it used to be.

Roads were very good barring some broken sections near Panapakkam. Once the bypass is full done, it’ll be fantastic. That Chittoor bye pass can compete with any good expressway.
