Guys One of my friend and his spouse wants to join in the convoy.
He can either bring his vehicle, or if there are vacant seats shareable that is fine too. He is not a member here, but after going through this thread he had asked me to put a query. Let me know.

Hi laluks,

Absolutely no issues. If the dates are itinerary is fine, can tag along the convoy. My convoy is now very much manageable. 2 cars and 3 bikes (from Delhi).

Souvik,

What happened? I thought you were having some 11-12 cars in your convoy! 2-3 cars sound very manageable and less risky as well...

Hi Nainar,

Yes. A lot dropped out (and I am not complaining). Much manageable now. You still joining right? That 2 included you.

I guess so!! I was very worried when you were saying 11-12 cars. With so many moving machines and varied people, chances of mishaps, slow downs are much much higher and I was skeptical. With 2-3 cars, it is a lot more safe, less risky and manageable.

We drove in a convoy of 12 cars to nearby Yercaud. We had quiet a bit of planning and route maps, checkpoints etc for such a short distance itself and still one car missed the route and went some other way. One of us had to run around, track them and bring them back. And for a distance of 8000 kms with 12-12 cars, unless all of them are seasoned long distance drivers with a sense of direction, not possible to coordinate all.

Yes, am in and so is my colleague. Will keep you updated.

Tomorrow am driving down to Bangalore from Pune.

Hi Nainar,

Great to hear. Yes, that long convoy is always a nightmare and quite glad that this is small and nice now. Wish you a safe trip to Pune and hope to catch you in Pune soon.

I will call you once you are back.

Rajiv, congrats, after what must have been an arduous journey. Pity you could not make it back via Manali.

I'm also planning to make a trip to Leh in early July 2010 in my Swift. Can you please suggest a thread where I could find out who all BHPians are travelling to Leh in early July.

All About AMS (HEALTH PROBLEMS IN HIGH ALTITUDE)

Hi,

Since a lot of us travel to high altitudes, there are always discussions about AMS. Attached document is a "know now" about AMS.

That is quiet a lot of information Souvik. I am aware of AMS but not to this extent. Quiet helpful in planning.

We could'nt catch up yesterday as planned. May be you got hooked on to England - Germany match like I did. Let us plan on it soon so that we can go over the details.
