roads passing through amboli or radhanagari or gaganbavda may be in same condition. road passing thru amboli is major road connecting vengurla to belgaum, it is in better condition than other two district roads.

whichever route you choose, you should mind safety.
Thank you , for all the information & advice , will update the road condition once I get to Goa.

Dinar,

What is this route via Anmod?
I used the mum-pun-kol-nipani-rt turn near the satyapalace and kaveri restaurants-arja-amboli-sawantwadi-goa route in May. I've been many a time on NH17 but found this to be better because of the Golden Quad.

The roads upto Nippani are great..but after that upto sawantwadi are bad for the car...I hate car getting hammered every 500 meters.

goa route condition update
1] on nh17 from mumbai to goa,
sangameshwar got heavy rainfall, river is overflowing and crossed the limit,
rajapur is flooded, may get problem.
2] on kolhapur gaganbavda route,
bridge was under water, traffic hampered.

people traveling from mumbai and pune to goa on 13,14 and 15 aug, watch this thread for route condition.

Cousins update: Road between,Sawantwadi and Goa is cut off due to an overflowing river. So practically even if you take Pune - Kolhapur - Amboli - Sawantwadi - Goa route, you can't get into Goa unless of course Dodamarg instead of Patradevi is open. Anyone going to Goa from Bombay this weekend take the Pune route south since you have far more options that NH-17 to cut across and choose an alternate path to enter Goa.

Options

Pune - Kolhapur - Gaganbawda - Kankavli - Sawantwadi - Goa
Pune - Kolhapur - Nipani - Amboli - Sawantwadi - Goa
Pune - Kolhapur - Gadinglaj - Amboli - Sawantwadi - Goa
Pune - Kolhapur - Belgaum - Amboli - Sawantwadi - Goa
Pune - Kolhapur - Belgaum - Usgaon - South Goa

There are feeble chances that the road between Kolhapur and Pune will shut since its pretty well elevated after the 4 lane upgrade.

Please be prepared for this - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...-downpour.html

Uggh! Hope things improve soon. Even if Dodamarg is open, it's OK. The south Goa road will be a really round and about for me and I'm not too familiar with it. Keep this thread updated, fellows.

Landslide breaks Goa-Karnataka link

Heavy rains snapped Goa's southern link with neighbouring Karnataka following a major landslide along Anmod Ghat, a road running across Molem national wildlife sanctuary.

right now,
amboli route upto sawantwadi is in better condition.
least chances of flooding nh4.
if painganga river in kolhapur get flooded, then only there are chances.
sawantwadi to goa route is flooded at banda due to terekhol river.
if sawantwadi band route is blocked, you have alternate route to enter in goa is

amboli-ghat-danoli-kolgaon-vengurla-shiroda-pernem-panjim.

afterall, this was yesterday's and today's situation.
this may be differant on 13/14/15 aug.

I see that the rains have created havoc on the Mumbai / Pune - Goa routes. I haven't ever taken any other road, but for the regular (and very scenic) Mumbai - Chiplun - Panjim way on NH17.

Could someone who's familiar please put up simple directions for the Mumbai - Pune - Goa route? It would be great if you could also enter approximate kms between each point. Thanks

I guess NH4 is fine despite the rains. I am not going to Goa in this rain, but heading towards Mahabaleshwar
