Situation seems to have improved according to Sahara Mumbai News. All the ghats connecting Kolhapur to Konkan are open. The water on NH17 seems to have receded as well.
According to the channel, it's stopped raining in certain parts of Raigad district.

Guys, I will be leaving Pune early morning around 7:30 to 8:00 am. If any of the Bombay boys want to join me in a convoy let me know. I know the route well.

I am going, regardless of flooded rivers and pouring rains. I know I'll reach Goa anyhow.

Avi, be careful nonetheless. Factor in at least 5 hours more for your journey time than the time you normally take. Also, factor in the scenario that you may not get diesel on the way. In such a case you should have a fool proof alternative option rather than getting stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Here is a Flash - GTO has just reached Panaji from Bombay via the Pune-Kolhapur-Nippani-Amboli-Savantwadi route. So the North Goa roads are open - they were closed due to flooding after Banda for last 2 days.

GTO left at 5 am from Bombay and reached at 200 pm - that was a fast 570 km drive. He reports great roads, but for a small 30-km stretch after leaving NH4 after Nippani (Hotel Cauvery being the landmark for the 167-km milesone to Panaji).

Is a teambhp meet coming up in Goa this weekend?
