Re: The Football Thread

Saw the EPl 'final'. Now with Hernandez going great guns Berbatov must be wondering what is he doing at Man United? I bet sir Alex did not fortune to have him warm the bench!

But who knew then that hernandez is going to have such an effect!
rooney even says he is the buy of the century

I feel berba will still stay at united, and united need him too.

Well, I guess thats the only option with Sir Alex. My guess is that Berbatov will not fetch a good sum, atleast in the BPL. But anyway, he is doing pretty well for United.

But, the question is, will he want to warm up the benches after a very good first half of the season? I don't think Hernandez would be benched considering how he's played.

Re: The Football Thread

19th Title to United, unless they do something stupid in last two matches. Chicharito is arguably the signing of season in entire Europe.
How many games did he score the all-important winner this season!!! I lost count.
I guess Berby will be used for CL or much of an impact player next season. Chicharito is going to start all matches next season along side Rooney.

Arsenal blew it apart when they had best shot at 2 fronts atleast (LC & EPL). As usual, we will hope for a better next season.
Atleast we are inching closer every season, not backwards
Need some better signings, more importantly a defender (Sakho of PSG will be perfect, lets see).

Liverpool's late revival is something to cheer for their fans. With some shrewd signings, they sure will be a force to reckon next season.

Chelsea - did they commit a blunder by signing Torres? Only time will tell. Hope he will not be another Shevchenko (how many of you still remember Shevchenko as a once great European player???)

ManCity - finally into Top4 after beating Spurs. While it is Good to watch them in CL, future of how many good players they will waste for becoming a super club? Another RM in making? - Santacruz, Ireland, Dunne, Shaun-Wright Philipps. I guess, there will be few more added to this list next season while they buy some more big names.

Spurs - better luck next time. They need some great signings like Van Der Vaart to be reckoned as a force. Hope Bale will stay with them.

Now only thing look forward to is CL final.
United vs Barca in Wembley = Vidic/Rio-Villa/Messi, Rooney/Chicharito - Pique/Puyol, Alves-Valencia. Lets see who is having their final say!!!

Re: The Football Thread

I was expected some favour from Harry, but one Mr. Crouch had other plans. I was expecting Man. City to loose all of the remaining games, and Liverpool to win the remaining fixtures

To be fair to Mancini, they have been in top 4 throughout the season, and he (not the team) atleast deserve a CL spot.

Maybe this was the first and last CL season for Spurs!

Re: The Football Thread

I watched it. Yeah almost. Was feeling really sleepy, missed a few minutes because of this.

Two one side games in a day - This one and the IPL Final.

15 mins into the game, Man U looked lost. Relentless attacks from the kid from Barcelona "Messe"d up the highly rated defense of the English Club.

He was so brilliant in some moves I just could not believe it was happening. And the goal by him. Well that is stuff of legends.
