Re: R.I.P. Behram Dhabhar

We get to know some people only through their posts on an internet forum and yet news of their passing gives us a big shock. For me, first it was our member TRRK, then Sam, Guderian and now Behram Sir. If I, who never had any personal contact with him, can feel so shocked, I cannot imagine what his family and friends must be going through. May God help them get through this phase. RIP Sir.

Re: R.I.P. Behram Dhabhar

RIP Sir. This is a huge loss. Really saddened.

In my previous organisation, I have seen him working from close quarters though didn't get a chance to work with him directly. He was a walking encyclopedia for SUVs and 4X4s.
I have very fond memories of a training he had given to us new joiners then, named "Bumper to Bumper". I will always remember one sentence of his which he used in that training "Mujhe pakka malum hai ki chamcha kidhar dabaneka aur kidhar chodneka", which meant "I know exactly where on a road do I need to press the accelerator and where to let go of the gas".
Also the way he used to care for his cars was another hot topic among us those days. A true petrol head.

Re: R.I.P. Behram Dhabhar

Dear all,

In this journey called life, we all have parts to play. But the true spirit of humanity is sharing our knowledge. That is how we remember. that is how we move forward. that is how we evolve.

I never met Dhabar sir in person. never spoke to him. Never even dropped him a pm. i thought of getting in touch many a times, but was stopped by thoughts like ' should i really bother a god for such measly discussion?'.huge respect he commanded.
Even his t-bhp tag. DHABAR.BEHRAM -in bold (ekdum solid). whenever i saw that name in any of the threads, i was sure to read every word he had to tell.

yes, that's the amount of respect his words envoked in me. and i only knew him because of words. i read about him. i read words written by him. he shared, and without his knowing, i gathered. Not many people like to share (sad but true) and i thank him for sharing his knowledge with the world.

3 days before, when i casually hit the url www.team-bhp.com, i was filled with regret, that i lost a chance to reach out to such gem of a person forever.

My many condolences to friends, family and fans.

I first read about him in January 2007. in a magazine called Business standard Motoring. i was an immature kid back then, but the way he described the process of wheel alignment in a fiat made me realize there is much more to it than just making the wheels point straight ahead.his words made me question, ponder and figure things out. i realize it now, but he contributed in lighting a spark in me which made a difference between " okay i love cars, wow that one looks hot" to " okay i need to understand how that works on a car, and make every effort to do a job perfectly. because that perfection will bring out the true self of any car or machine"

Sharing that very article with the team.

Re: R.I.P. Behram Dhabhar

@GTO

I did not know this gentleman. My loss as i see now. These are the back bone of any organisation. Solid, committed and dedicated. And more importantly ethical. The very fact that there are so many in Team-BHP who have expressed their anguish over the untimely demise of this stalwart is a measure of his standing in this community.
With this in mind, i suggest you consider dedicating a thread to such stalwarts ( similar to know your moderators) wherein one could read about all the people who have made a difference to Team-BHP.
