I too received an email from Axis that the migration is expected to be completed by 15/7, with specific focus on how credit cards will behave post that date. In particular:

And:

Citibank's exit from India-untitled2.png

(The only card I have from Citi is the PremierMiles card, which I have not been using for a while now because I was vacillating between retaining it and closing).

I didn't quite understand what the "combined credit limit" is. Does this mean they will reduce the limits on both my Citi and Axis cards so that their sum will be the higher of the two limits?

Re: Citibank's exit from India

Guys, I was told that we have to update the new IFSC code in the income tax portal to process successfully refunds if any. I tried that however there is no option to edit the IFSC code. I also tried to add a new account (same citi a/c number) with the new IFSC code however it says invalid account number. I guess the only option is to add a new account from another bank.

Anyone has tried this?

I was able to edit the existing details. No need to add a new account. The IFSC code can be edited and it immediately changes to Axis Bank. Then the option to validate using OTP on mobile.

PS. It was not working till last week.

Re: Citibank's exit from India

I see that almost everyone here has received emails from Axis bank informing about the new CustomerID for their old Citibank A/C which will now be Axis. Also, most of you guys have also received communication about what Credit card you will be getting against your Citi Credit card.

But strangely, I still haven't received any communication yet. With this date of migration to be 15/07, it's a bit strange that I still don't know what my CustomerID will be, or which Credit card I will getting. I called Axis customer care, who duly routed me to Citibank customer care, but all they told me is that I will be soon getting info about my Axis products.

Check whether the emails from Axis bank are going to junk. There are emails on service disruptions from Axis bank. Check whether you received all of them.

No, I have checked Junk folder as well.

I am getting emails about using their new IFSC, service disruptions, etc. But nothing for the new customerID, credit cards, etc.

I don't think there would be new customer ID's. AXIS did confirm that the current citi a/c numbers would still continue.

Re: Citibank's exit from India

As per the mobile app, the consumer login is still via CITI online post-July 14th. I think only retail banking is affected, which is why we are not receiving any login credentials yet.

Re: Citibank's exit from India

Anyone know what will happen to Citi Corporate Credit Cards? I don't know if it's considered retail or enterprise business for the Citi.

I was expecting they'd be able to match my Citi and Axis account details and assign the already existing customer ID. After all, both banks have my name, address, email, mobile, PAN and Aadhaar common - so it should be a straightforward thing, right? No, they had to give me a new customer ID.

As far as I recall - it is against RBI rules to assign two customer IDs to the same retail customer. So let me see how Axis deals with this.

Nope, I have not received any such communication yet. They may be sending it in batches I guess. Have to wait and watch!

Interesting, i have Axis customer ID from earlier relations related to loan and credit cards. Haven't received any update on this yet.

Re: Citibank's exit from India

I just contacted CITI in the live chat option and as per them if we already have an AXIS account we do not have to create or register again and 2 accounts along with any loans or credit cards will be visible. So I am guessing that is the reason I am not getting any separate customer id or netbanking credentials. They also said we can continue credit card payments from AXIS netbanking. Let's see what happens on 15th.

Re: Citibank's exit from India

This FAQ clearly states that the existing account numbers will continue post migration!
