Packers & Movers: Post all queries here

Hi All,

Not Sure if we already have a thread for this info, If its already existing, request Mods to merge it.

I am relocating to Gurgaon in first week of December. I am looking for some advise to take my households + Car to Gurgaon.

I have some information which I have manged to get from Internet but want to know from fellow Bhpian's first hand experiences.
Have talked to these packers&Movers
1.Prakash P&M
2.MAX International P&M
3.Budget P&M
4.SunShine P&M

All of these P&M have offices in Bangalore. Have not tried Agrawal since they looks on the expensive side. Am I correct in thinking so?

When I came from Noida to Bangalore 3 yrs back, used Writers Relocations who are leaders in global relocations, which I liked a lot but they charge a Bomb ( My company paid that time)

Please pour in your good & bad experiences. Also let me know any tips which can be helpful.

All the above P&M are asking somewhere between Rs 7000 to Rs 9000 to transport my Car(petra). Is this fine?

For households, there seems to be too much difference in quotes. (From Rs 18000 to Rs 30000).

Thanks
Bhishma

Agrawal have a good transport all around India, but their packaging is not up to the mark.
Does any one have a first hand experience of Prakash Packers&Movers?

Just got this information from one friend.
There is a transport company in gurgaon( works for Maruti) which transports maruti cars to South India. while returning back they pick up the cars from Bangalore or other places to Gurgaon for a less money and are very safe. They also charge 25% less than packers and movers. Movers and packers anyway uses the same trailors and takes more money from customers.

Anyone interested to know details can pm me.
cheers.

How was moving experience?

I've heard packers *always* damage stuff.
* scratches on TV, steel cupboards
* break table legs
* chip-off wood on sofas
* damage glassware

Can someone with first-hard experience share insight?

I just moved from Pune to Gurgaon , used Allied Lemuir very professional excellent service but expensive as well.

I had insured my stuff for which they charged 2% of value as premium , I have now made a claim for some minor damage to furniture polish work etc which they are processing for me without any follow up from my end.

Would highly recommend them !

I used writer relocations - moderately expensive but good.
a. tried to make me take 2% insurance on bike - needed a solid whack before they realized normal insurance covers transit!
b. Everything impeccable except some fool lifted my bike by its mudgard - breaking it. 400 odd bucks expenditure. now it sports a rally mudgard as a result!

Writers relocations looks to be the best in the bussiness. Very professional. Had a wonderful experience with them.
Agrawal packer& movers are also good and should be on the cheaper side.

Avoid Prakash P&M as all costs. not even if they provide it for free
cheers

One of my friend and also a cousin used Link Packers & Movers to different destinations and their service according to my cousin was far better off than Agarwal or others(he has been hopping around india since 8 years). I dont have their number but on googling you might be able to. Even my Pal was satisfied with their service.
