Yes Ravi, your assessment looks most relevant at this point in time. So the bottom would be somewhere near 4300? Or it might drag further down?

Not many sessions left for the month of Aug and I see 4300 PUT most active.
I guess it is safe to assume that. Though in stock market nothing is safe enough

I have to agree with vsh here. This is recommended especially if you are young or if you can afford to have a longer term investment horizon(both of which are a bit interrelated by the way.) The current market scenario is also conducive to this. the stock investment also can be in SIP mode - viz. select a few good ones and keep buying over a period of time, instead of a one-shot purchase.

Make that 600% in 6 months. I've bought 100 of Aban @ 240 on 8th Feb, and sold yesterday @ 1600. Made a cool 1.36 lakh, on a 24K investment :-)

Honeymoon is over..

Looks like my trouble free run with ICICI Bank and its various financial products has finally come to an end..

My ICICI Direct account has been "temporarily de-activated" because the bank has lost my account opening forms and wants me re-execute and re-submit all the documents!! .. Just imagine.. which bank in the world would penalize its customers because the bank itself has been tardy in its safekeeping of documents????

Anyway, I have now re-submitted all the documents by post more than a month ago and sent a mail to helpdesk@icicidirect.com asking for the status. Initially, I got a response asking me to provide courier details etc.. I pointed out that I spent $20 of my own money on post to correct THEIR mistake and I am not mad enough to spend some more on international courier.

After that, absolutely no response... I even forwarded the mail to coo@icicidirect.com and to the persons to whom I had mailed the documents (I guessed their email id). They have maintained a steady email silence so far, I might as well done this ->

Any ideas/suggestions on how to move this forward and wake them from their slumber?

Its a known fact that a year or so before when Mumbai had flood, their record room got affected and hence they requested almost all account holders to re-submit those forms. Did you do at that time? May be its been quite a long time, if not submited and hence deactivated.

Here what ever digital papers, soft copy of document you have in magnetic storage, those are seldom used or believed. The PAPERS have more value than anything else in Indian system.

Who keeps Customer records in the basement ?
After 2 years of incessant rains nothing learnt ?

I believe they have to be convered in to soft copy records and
the hardcopy information has to be done away with, after their retention period is over.
