Well that was brilliant. And the mental disintegration is currently working against them only. They tried to do it with gambhir but he got a double. HAHA

And as usual Very Very Spl Laxman is at his best against the aussies. I really hope we can get 2 wickets before the EOD

The double standards of match referee again. Gambhir is charged with Level 2 and Watson with Level 1 for the same offence makes me wonder do Aussies give some special treats to match referres. Gavaskar is right. Asian players are discriminated in this respect.

Mishra does the first strike.

Gambhir banned for 1 match

***
This is insane.Match referee treats Watson with kid gloves handing him a 10% match fee fine.It was clear that it was he who provoked Gambhir and he is now banned for a match.
I think BCCI should step in and do something about this.To rub salt on the wound,Katich walks away scot freee. No wonder the Aussie media calls the Indian team the Worst behaved team citing the numerous fines\bans we have received. But they tend to over see the fact that match referee's are harsh on us.
ahhhh...How I wish we trash these Au"sissy's" 3 - nil

The aussies are feeling let down because gambhir was not charged for this

Yeah right.Aussie players start the entire episode and when given back they go back crying to momma.
I would really like to hear what Gavaskar has to say about this ruling. He was highly critical of the Aussie behaviour y'day and was not very impressed with Watson's behaviour after he bowled Gambhir.
Can Gambhir appeal against this or is it the final verdict?

He can appeal for this. But whatever said and done, they will not reduce the punishment. Its very harsh. Chris Board should have banned both of them instead of only Gambhir or both shouldhave got 10% match fee as fine.

We should ban all the australia players from the next IPL tourney especially Watson. This will teach some lesson to the individual players...as they cannot make moolah.

Guys, let's be a little level headed too. Here's my take on this.

Watson & Katich might have bad mouthed gambhir, but it was gambhir who made deliberate physical contact which should not be encouraged in a game like cricket. And this is not his first time either. He is in the peak of his form & should let his bat do the talking. More the aussies sledge, more frustrated they become.

Agree. No need to get physical. Be smart not physical.

Now let's get back to the current match - Kumble is totally ineffective in bowling, and incompetent as captain.

He is the captain of a side, leading by 1-0, and having scored 613 in the first innings, and he didn't place a second slip or gully for Ishnat. Dhoni drew his attention towards this but he chose to ignore him, and two edges flew through the same area :-(

Gambhir got what he deserved IMO. Whatever the provocation, you cannot get physical with an opponent, and that too when you have already been warned for it once.

Aussie 181/1 !! Hope this doesnt end into one boring draw. If India has to win , they better pull this one off. Aussie might be more positive if they draw this one , that too we might not have Gambhir in the next match!

With Kumble looking ineffective in the bowling dept, the burden lies on Mishra to do the trick. Perhaps, its still a good batting track. Sehwag has got the maximum turn off the pitch as per the commentator on cricinfo.

Heading for a draw if it continues the way it is right now.
