Maybe one should just say Bah to cricket and tennis, the way they currently are in India. Behaviour and attitude of the players are not in the best tradition of the sports themselves, per se.

I hope you have at least met him once and spent a bit of time with him to dislike him so much or is it based purely on newspaper reports and opinions of others ? Or just that he is too famous ?

Lack of conformance to my personal definition of gentlemanly behaviour on and off the field. I wont say more and I m not about to change my opinion.
And I do have a solid base to make this judgement. In any case it is my personal judgement and hence I dont need to really justify the same, though I can if required.

Yeah me too. Flipping between ten cricket, star sports and ESPN.

Can't tolerate WI-NZ though I follow the scores closely

Re: The Cricket Thread

Mater stroke by Dhoni. Keeps Rohit in the side and also picks Tiwary. I think this is a smart move considering the supposedly last chance that Rohit got did not play out well in the sense that he was made to come lower and that LBW decision was not that great either.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Is it the end of the road for Rohit ?

I don't think so. I am sure he will play the last ODI, that could be the last if he does not score. Some people are born lucky.

Re: The Cricket Thread

^^^ If he had scored DUCK yesterday as well, I bet most would had named Rohit Sharma as "Sri Lankan Duck Curry" .

Who holds the records for most consecutive Ducks BTW?

Re: The Cricket Thread

Rohit will, and should, play in the final ODI.

But what next if he scores a 40-50 ?

Re: The Cricket Thread

Well, it depends. If it is a crucial knock (all 50s are crucial, I know). But you know what I mean. A proper match winning 40-50.

He may be talented and everything, but he needs to get his confidence back. he can be a great player.

On another note, I'm really amazing by Kohli. He has really proved himself. 13 centuries at the ripe young age of 24! (some say, that's debatable too)

He should be retained in the team until after the home ODI series.

Does not matter. The man(or boy) is delivering and how ? There is very good reason for us fans not to get carried away by these knocks, even Raina did the same job if not better in the last 2 games.

That record belongs to Jayasurya, but then he has played more innings than everyone else except Tendulkar.

Ajit Agarkar's record Ajit agarkar's dubious record-7 ducks in a row video..hilarious...!! - Indian Cricket Fans

Anybody knows how many ducks West Indian tailenders like Courtney Walsh have? remember seeing them getting bowled out within a couple of overs once their top and middle order got out.
