Folks,

Petrol and Diesel are running too short in Bangalore. Most pumps have ran out of Normal fuel and are forcing customers to buy Premium only. I filled up my car today with premium diesel which is nearly 3rs more than normal.

ohh fuel shortage is back??? water shortage...power shortage and now fuel shortage i guess now is "air" is left, god knows when there will be a shortage of that too...

Haha, pretty soon i guess. And for mildly-polluted air, if an alternate mass transport is not put in place shortly.

Saw yesterday in Sun News: Petrol & Diesel shortage for 6th consecutive day. Especially diesel is not available at bunks in Chennai. Invariably in all the petrol bunks that i visited for the last 4 days didn't have diesel!!!

Diesel is available at Chennai bunks at certain times. Got ~27 litres yesterday in 2 fills of Rs. 500 each - IOC (Gayatri Auto) at Adayar Signal. 4:30 pm is the magic hour elsewhere. Parveen Travels' bunk at Sholinganallur (just beyond the TCS office) also seems to have stock.

Worst case, you have (S)hell's angels.

I did have a problem with getting diesel since yesterday (Sunday) evening. I could not get diesel all the way from Porur to Anna Nagar. Manged to find a bunk with Diesel this morning before running dry. Waited for 15 minutes watching Share Auto and Van drivers fill up their tanks + 20 - 30 lits in can each. One guy even got 75 lits in cans of various sizes. And when my turn came the attendant says "500 Rs only sir". I had to pick up a short argument before they agreed to fill my Indigo's tank - to my horror it takes 40.9 lits. I realize then that during the argument they hadn't reset the pump before starting to fill my tank - probably got cheated by about 3-5 lits (coz the guy before me got his 5 lit can filled up).

Drove down to Chennai this weekend and regretted taking my car. Even though some bunks had stock the queue in front of those bunks was unbelievable. As usual, Shell came to the rescue. Felt I was in a foreign country paying Rs 68 a litre.

I had to fill petrol for my bike on the way to office today morning. HP petrol pump near my home had no stock sign for both petrol and diesel. Another pump of Indian oil also had no stock sign for both. Other two; one BP & IOC had long que's of people trying to get petrol (not much que for diesel, though). Took me half an hour in the BP pump to get petrol. Looks like petrol is the latest among the fuel shortage.

No offense meant but can we all make this thread meaningful by specifying exactly where fuel is and is not available?

Locations such as "near my home" and "just outside my office" don't help anybody.

Yesterday there was no stock of diesel at IOC Marathahalli. but found at IOC next to Forum.
Read in news paper yesterday that fuel shortage is because of some truck strike at MRPL(Mangalore refineries)
But with confirmation about next round of power cuts, things might only worsen :(

There is talk of Bunks being closed on Sundays in TN. Hope that is not ture.
