Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

Superb driving conditions today in Bangalore. What a pleasure
Had to go to Golden Palms for a team offsite. Reached the venue from Mahadevapura in 1hr 20mins which is not bad. The only place where I was stuck was at the Peenya metro station. Took the HMT road (Brigade rubix road) and then the u-turn onto NH4. This took 30 minutes.
Returning back it took exactly 1 hour to Mahadevapura. The Gorguntepalya railway crossing was the only bottleneck. Roads were so clear today, that my colleague got pulled over for speeding

Yeah BTP had warned about this on Twitter/FB.

Recommend you to use twitter/FB on your smartphone and follow BTP. My dad does so before he heads out everyday.

My login time is 6 30 AM. The cab (indica) comes by 5:55 - 6: 00 AM to Bommanahalli and by 6:35 I am in office. This is for a distance of 21 kms (ITPL).

Now tell me why should the cab come to pick you by 4 AM???
I dont know the reason!! Cab drivers are crazy!!

A model each Bangalorean should emulate

After a massive protest from the IT crowd and residents of Whitefield against the pathetic infrastructure, the government had granted funds and work on asphalting the roads was taken up. However, just a fortnight after the work was completed, residents and regular commuters were aghast to see roads being dug up for laying cables and pipes. Irked by this, they have turned into the guardians of the roads. If they see work taking place on a newly laid road, they go up to the officials and ask for the permission letter. If they fail to furnish one, their photographs and contact numbers are tagged to the police and civic authorities on social media.

If you (or any other member from this forum) are on Facebook, then search and join the groups below.

- Wake Up Bengaluru
- Whitefield Rising

Urge you to do your bit in reporting such illegal things in these groups. There are activists in these group, who would take the matter forward with the authorities.

Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation-imageuploadedbyteambhp1449940094.131788.jpg
Repair work in full swing b/w Kanakapura Road toll and Bannerughatta Road toll on NICE Road. Road is now smoother. This is in the direction of BG Road. Heard from the toll operator that they are going to be patching up all the uneven surfaces eventually. They have recieved lots of complaints from people using this road.

There was a mini jam here with everyone from 3 lanes trying to cram into a single lane. Literally crawling on NICE Road - never experienced that before 😁

Didn't know where to post it, mods can move it to appropriate thread please

Regards,
Aniketh

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

This is how a fellow Bangalorean responded to a genuine suggestion to use Japanese co-opeartion for a mass rapid transit system instead of running a bullet train between cities.

Re: Rants on Bangalore's traffic situation

If companies want to come to North, it is not a solution, but bad news for Bangalore North. Imagine how useful the NICE road would have been if it had connectivity to Whitefield. The PES clover leaf section of NICE road was supposed to be a toll free road as per agreement with GOK. Everyone has forgotten this.

Right/U turn closed for the vehicles coming from marathahalli side towards KR puram, at doddenakundi/total mall signal. New U turn introduced opposite emc office.

This is exactly what I was saying a 140 posts back! Go, Capgemini go, let's teach the politicians a lesson! Hope others join too, at least threaten to do so.

my previous post below again for quick reference:

Probably, it is time to do what Tatas did at Singur and tell the political class that they mean business? Isn't the traffic situation beginning to impact their business and reputation?

This should be wakeup call for other IT companies too. One city cannot take up all the jobs. It has to spread out. Great news for other cities.
