Agreed. But tomorrow being a Sunday, traffic would be sparse and the drive to the place should be enjoyable if the current weather persists.

I'll join you guys, albeit a bit late. Already made up my mind to have fish curry meals (which am having now) @ Crescent, near Adyar flyover, so will be a part of the team in 30 mins from now.

So we got together at Dragon's Den for lunch yesterday and had a good meal that involved substantial depletion of the local livestock population at a remarkably reasonable rate (5k odd for like a dozen of us).

Parking was a bit of an issue - as it is on a crowded road there was no neat parking lot to take the obligatory car pics, we parked up the street wherever we could find parking.

Ratish (Swiftnfurious) joined us a bit later after his fish curry meal at Hotel Crescent and brought along a Kerala dessert that is quite rare even in local Malayali restaurants - Ela Adai (a sort of modak / kadubu / kozhukattai, but made like a roti folded over a sweet stuffing made from coconut and jaggery, folded into a banana leaf and steamed).

After a lot of small talk about cars, movies and food, the umm.. meat of this meeting was where to go for the next drive, and for a change a long one for a weekend trip. After a lot of other options were rejected, the overwhelming favorite was Pollachi and Top Slip.

We are still looking at options for a resort for a 3 n / 2 d weekend stay where we start for Pollachi on Friday, spend the weekend there and return to Chennai on Monday morning. Sometime in December or January, but timed to avoid huge crowds from holidaymakers and Sabarimala pilgrims. Suggestions welcome.

After this we went to Bombay Kulfi House opposite Besant Nagar beach for some more dessert and what we thought was a leisurely walk on the beach, when we were accosted by a local TV crew that was asking all sorts of questions on what we felt about political events in 2017, Kamalahasan joining politics etc. Suitably colourful answers were given and the crew moved on to find others to interview.
