Satya called me from chennai to tell that there is diesel shortage in chennai.
Is it the same case in Pondy too? because while returning we need to fill up our tanks.

My fuelling experience :
At 1.20 AM today, there was a queue of about 7-8 vehicles at a popular BP pump in Chennai.
I didnt have the patience to stand in the queue since I had atleast half a tank.
On the way back home,15 minutes later, I saw an IOC pump(nelson manikam road) without any vehicle waiting. Asked the pump guy why it was deserted and he said it was well past midnight for a queue. I just smiled and filled 'er up.

@brraj : OK, so will make it a 1PM check-in time for you guys also.

Regarding fuel, my usual practice is to limp into Pondy with maybe some 100ml petrol in the tank and then fill up some 50 litres of petrol @ around 4 rupees per litre less. But this being a time of fuel (mainly diesel) scarcity, I would be a little wary.

Note : Please DO NOT make ANY payments (towards room rent ie.) to the resort. When you guys reach the resort, just mention the following names and claim your rooms.

Regarding sightseeing, I am sticking mostly to Shekaran's plan (he is the Pondy expert) with some minor changes.

Sat evening :
Start a little after Chennai guys reach resort & cover Chunnambar, Aurobindo ashram and Promenade.
Be back at resort by 8 - 8:30 PM and start partying.
Note : If Bangy guys reach at 1PM as planned, they can go ahead and visit some of the places in the list and then we guys can catch up with them at some spot.

Sun morning :
Those interested (and not hungover from previous night's party) can cover the other places (Auroville, saneeswarar temple, kali temple, Panchavatee temple, oosudu lake etc) on Sunday morning after breakfast. There is also the option of checking out the Sunday Bazaar.

And YES, the situation in pondy is a little tense following the political activities. cops are everywhere, some roads are blocked . Dont know how it ll be when you guys arrive here.
