I will join the jhund banao in new alipore. Well i used to stay in Turf View Army officers complex before (an my dad was an army officer). The problem there is that too many cars can't be accomodated outside. How many are planning to assemble there?

The second thing is that there are 3-4 new prospective members who want to ride along with us till Baganbari but then want to come back. Should they be allowed to join us?

A #@$#@ Taxi driver driving a yellow ambi without proper brakes hit my "baby" yesterday at a traffic signal in front of Birla Hospital close on Ekbalpur Road. I was waiting for the signal to turn green and Bamb !!!! The bumper broke :( I still can't believe this. I did not move the car and asked a sergeant to check it out. He asked me to take down the car number and give a MCR to a close by police station. On reaching the police station I was politely asked to leave the car in the police station till their so called mechanic can check the damage and release the car. @#!@#@. I went out without reporting a MCR (Motor Collision Report).

Lesson learnt : When something like this happens negotiate with the other party then and there itself else it is no use running and going the legal way to get things fixed. Unfortunately, now I have to pay 50% of the cost of recovery as it is a fibre part.

I have given it to the service station today morning and have been promised a Saturday delivery. Hope they do not disappoint me else my Sunday Picnic goes for a toss and 4 other people are going to kill me.

Autokraft, the guys who do Maruti and Mercs. Recently one of my cousin's car had a similar hit and these guys did a pretty good job. It is in Parnashree.

If they are joining us for the drive, they can tag along. But if they plan to come in along with us, it would only be right if they also pay like the rest of us (irrespective of whether they want to eat or not).

My dad had a slightly diff strategy for countering the Cabbies...

It goes like this: Capture the guy...and make him sit outside your house for one whole day. He will realise his folly once he looses a day's income. Fortunately, he is an Ex Army officer who can force his way thru...unfortunately, most of are not.

Seems that the only way to get things done is to take the law into one's own hands..!!

Absolutely.Same thing happened when a private bus hit my M800 from the side,when my car was parked on a wide road like R.B Avenue.The sergeant on duty at D' Park said its not under his area,I ran to Tolly P.S.They were equally unhelpful.Finally I got hold of a Union leader,went next morning to the bus depot,met the owner and managed to get Rs 2000/ from him,although the MASS charged me Rs 4800/,the day after.

Which service station? I have a very good connection at Darga Road,MASS. Being a doc at times do help, if you want I can pull the strings and make sure they do the delivery by Saturday latest.Changing the rear bumper won't even take that long,IMO. Problem might be with color though.
