For bonnet spots, use a rag soaked in diesel or kerosene.(Do exercise caution while handling these liquids)
(just apply a small bit on the rag and then soak the paint spot for 1/2-1 min)

afterwards, wash the area thoroughly with car wash soap!

Can't recollect any auto accessory shops in 3rd block. You could try one of these in Koramangala:
- Sprocket (6th block, near China Pearl Restaurant)
- Auto Shop (7th block, near Sai Temple)
- Car Fancy (4th block, near Sharma Restaurant)
- Can't remember the name of this shop (on Jyoti Nivas College road)

Prasanna , dont get it from ebay, go to GP road and get it from Rahaman store. I got my formula 1 wax there based on recommendations from other forum members and it was original.

Otherwise you can get original polish from shell petrol outlets but at MRP. 2weeks ago the vadapalani branch got fresh stocks with complete range of Turtle and Eagle products.

How do you tell the difference between fake and authentic? And whats the effect of the fake stuff on car paint?

It will get rid of the clear coat scratch. Though I'm not so sure about the 'still brown' parts. That could be the primer showing from below!

And do get a car cover. It really helps prevent small scratches and stuff!
Thanks guys, I did manage to get the Formula1 paste and that did the job. It was a gut wrenching site and now I am happy as ever.

Thanks for the help.

Do you guys recommend anything else to maintain the white color car? thanks!

Get some diesel. When you wipe you will get a strong urge to use your nails to pry the spots off. STOP. Keep rubbing gently till the contaminant softens and gets removed.

wow man! that was spot on! This urge to use nails (wrapped in a MF cloth) is what led to a few nasty spots on my car, but never again!!

If you have Metro Cash & Carry in Chennai have a look. In Calcutta they carry some of the Formula 1, Sonax and 3M products. Personally I would advice Turtle Wax over formula one. Check availability at www.xenos.co.in

The original one has the US flag in waving motion where as in fake ones its flat & totally rectangular at the bottom of it. Not sure if even the fake ones have started coming out with the waving US flag.

Brilliant! The product has been shipped. Will post the pic of it when I get it. Hopefully it wont be a fake. Thought I'd give it a shot and order it since it was not too expensive.
