Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

I had earlier mentioned about adding System-D After filling in diesel. This is because I have noticed lot of frothing during filling, if System-D is added to the tank before filling in diesel.

However, for petrol, I have been added System-G before filling in petrol. Not seeing any frothing this way.

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

I personally lost faith in additives after giving Speed, Speed 97 and shells VPower a long chance to prove themselves. I didn’t notice much difference. I am very happy with XP 95 though!

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

Can anyone recommend if putting an external additive along with regular diesel is equivalent to using IndianOil XtraGreen diesel? I have an XUV700 AWD Diesel and i find the XtraGreen has made a big difference to noise and smoothness of engine. The car feels so much nicer now.

Only thing is that when i do long distance drives, i may not have access to IndianOil petrol bunks and hence wanted to know if i can carry additives which can be added to regular diesel in those situations. Also advise if anyone here has used BS6 compliant additives and if its actually made a difference to your lives....

Thanks

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

I was able to procure Adon-D Super from the IOCL bunks in Coimbatore. But sourcing Adon-P was a very difficult task. All bunks had only the sachets available. It was difficult to use sachets when doing a tankful. So I reached out to Neo Petcon and they shared me the contact of the sales in-charge of Tamil Nadu (Mr. Keerthivasan). He was very helpful and arranged for Adon-P in 100ml bottles from a distributor in Chennai. I got these at MRP with additional nominal shipping charges. Definitely worth giving a try.
The company representative told that Adon-D Super is better than Adon-D and can be used for cars.

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

I find System G better when compared to Adon-P based on my personal experience in Honda Jazz. I placed orders for System-G directly on their website and was shipped free of cost. Better to buy directly from their website than from Amazon at inflated prices.
For diesels, however, I haven't tried System D yet.

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

Used Liqui Moly Super Diesel Additive in my Skoda Rapid 1.5 TDi at 42,000 kms. I have been using Adon-D for the last 3000 kms but LMSD made a drastic change in the engine smoothness, grunt and response. I never felt my car to be this smooth. It is a must try. Got it for Rs. 408 on Amazon.

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

Hello Teambhpians

A quick query on the Kawasaki Fuel System Super Cleaner.

On the last visit to service center, the folks at svc told that there is a build up on the throttle body. They did not clean it in the 2nd service, instead advised me to use the Fuel system cleaner. This is supposed to clean the buildup automatically when its poured in the fuel tank (200 ml *2 units for 16 litre fuel).

I have never used such additives/cleaners on any of my bikes over the years, this is the first time i would be using it (Ninja 1000 - 10250 kms run).

My query is, is this the usual way of cleaning fuel systems, has anybody used this specific brand ? Are there any cons of using these cleaners?

I have not heard of additives from this brand. I would suggest you to stick to proven brands like Liqui Moly for problem-related fixes and Adon-P/System-G for regular use.

Go ahead. It won't cause any harm..
Using a additive once a while is always better.

Re: The Fuel Additives Thread

Following BS-IV. the refining was modified so the need for additives decreased. Since the oil PSUs could not modify in time there was no BS-V. Therefore, I dropped additives. Now with BS-VI refining has stabilized so I am just omitting additives.

Just make sure you get fuel from a good source.

You may recall at one time for the certification purposes the manufacturers were buying fuel from Reliance only.
