Shouldn't be a problem at all in readjusting the wiper.
Remove the wiper blades (You need a spanner ), then adjust/align the wipers as per your need.

Got an extensive tune up and maintenance work done last month. Problems faced:
  • Thud suspension (literally goed 'THUD' on every bump).
  • Rear shockers leak (OE after 13 years)
  • Shot rear tyres due to bad shockers
  • Speedometer cable broken
  • Check Engile Light on due to reason above
  • A heavy steering
  • RPM kill - always under 500 or about to die - Old issue
  • Engine Misfire / Jerks till 2000-2400 RPM - Old issue
  • Rear tyre noise - Bearings kaput!
  • A bit of this, a bit of that!

List of things done:
  • Front Shocker replacement
  • Lower arm bush replacement
  • Tie-Rod Ends replaced
  • Front Suspension Bush Kit replaced
  • Rear Shockers replaced
  • Rear Wheel Bearings + Hubs replaced with OE
  • Engine Flushed
  • Engile Oil renewed with Castrol GTX Magnatec
  • Oil Filter replaced
  • Fuel Filter replaced
  • Spark Plugs replaced (all 4 - NGK OE Spec)
  • Speedometer Cable replaced
  • Steering Column Bushes replaced
  • Clutch Cable replaced
  • Brake cleaning
  • Throttle Body cleaned with spray
  • Injectors Cleaned
  • Radiator chemically cleaned
  • Replaced coolant and water
  • Two rear tyres replaced
  • Installed Hella Twin Tone horn
A tremendous change in the behavior of the car, except that the jerking/misfire will not go away. Reason - One cylinder has lost compression and there is no remedy for it! :-(

Otherwise the car was silent and the niggles all went away. A month down after off roading on Gurgaon roads, there are suspension noises cropping up slightly.

Guys, I am facing this issue with my left disk breaks getting stuck. It happens when I use the car after a nights gap,the wheels get hot. The disks get freed after 3-5 kms of running. I have recently changed the break oil. Any suggestions, what can be done.

Guys,

i am thinking of getting my OHC Vtec repainted (stripped off and then repainted); could you recommend any good places in Mumbai/Thane? My budget is approx. 40k (including body work and new rubber beadings). please PM me (or share the details on forum) the contact information of garages you might have tried out for body work/painting.

Try contacting Allen (V12 on TBHP). His dad runs a workshop at versova. He can assist you with further details.

re: 1st Gen Honda City Owners - Problems Areas, Fuel Efficiency and more

Hi Gurus,

Got Philips Rally 100/90 with Hella Relay and got some LEDs fixed inside. Till then everything was fine. Now when i drove back, i could see the RPM fluctuating. Yest only i had set it at around 900 and now its going up and coming down between 1000 and 300 - 400 mark. Jerking is there at slow speed and pickup is down from what it used to be. Moreover after parking i let the car idle and alongwith the RPM fluctuations, i could also sense a mild 'dhug dhug' sound with mild vibrations.

Somehow after servicing and getting the suspension work etc done, i am not happy. Can someone help please. Could this be an IACV issue (i dont know). I am going crazy with these small issues. Plus can someone help with a 2003 ECU as the jerking at lower speeds is irritating now. I want to keep the car as its great fun to drive but at the same time, these niggling issues get to your nerves.

Some issues all I can think off are

1. Please check the spark plug wires(spark plugs to delco). Either it might have gotten loose or one of the wire has gone for a toss.

2. Also check spark plugs , Throttle body, Airfilter

3. Try resetting the ECU - (remove the battery terminals overnight and plug it in morning, this should usually reset the ECU).

4. Bad fuel.. or water in fuel.

5. Check the vaccum pipe, is it connected properly or not.

6. Lastly.... Fuel pump... Lets hope this is not the case.

Get the IACV cleaned properly. Check for vacuum leaks if IACV cleaning doesn't solve the problem.

re: 1st Gen Honda City Owners - Problems Areas, Fuel Efficiency and more

Thanks Sushrutha and Pranav.

Throttle Body, Air Filter and Fuel Injectors were cleaned while getting the car serviced. I was also thinking of resetting the ECU by removing the battery terminals. If still issue persists, i will check the spark plug wires, vacuum pipes and IACV.

Thanks a lot guys. Its so good to know that there are so many like you guys to help us non technical people.

CHeers.

Hi Pranav, doesn't an issue with IACV mean erratic high idling? Will the idle rpm drop? Please advise.

What is the condition of the fuel pump?. I have heard many fuel pump issues in OHC's. Check the fuel pressure and confirm.

A clogged IACV would block airflow, resulting in a low idle.

re: 1st Gen Honda City Owners - Problems Areas, Fuel Efficiency and more

After fitting higher wattage 100/90 headlights with relay, without having a cutout have any effect as a relay is only to save the electrical component from any damage and not to distribute the battery power effectively and a cutout actually does the job of distributing the battery power.

Just a thought. Can this be a reason for the fluctuating idling. and where can i check for the vacumm pipe.

I also disconnected the battery terminal for about 3 hours but not much of a help.

What I heard from this thread earlier when i had an RPM fluctuating issue is that , due to faulty earthing also this can happen.
My issue resolved by itself. Suspecting bad fuel in my case .
