You should check with the 'Windshield experts' and see if they service your area. Pretty good service and quite reasonable rates too and moreover you can coordinate with your insurance provider. Call and talk to the windshield experts and find out the details.

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

My Getz's windshield was broken by a coconut that fell from a tree. Insurance (United India) covered the cost of the new windshield but not the installation cost. I paid nearly Rs.3k while Rs. 9K bourne by Insurance

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Hi all

I have been using the stock air filter on my quadrajet. Travelling in the dusty environment, i feel the filter is getting clogged more often. Will switching over to say K&N filter be an advantage? Anyone of you using a K&N filter please share their experience.

Many thanks

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

I have not used K&N on the Vista but had 1 on my old Zen. Honestly I never found it to be that great & didnt seem to make a big diff. as far as the dust factor was concerned. The cost difference between the paper filter & this 1 was quite large so I never found it to be worth.

Whats the cost of the K&N filter for a Vista (Quadrajet)? Is this available at TASC's or it has to be done form outside?

Did try to find out the fuse box but could not. Did not want to open up the panels to search for it as have the servicing appointment on 28th March and would find it out then. Also do not fancy myself in doing this DIY jobs. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Maverick1977.
Looks like there is no K&N filter available for Vista. At the Reliance auto zone I could find one for Swift diesel which was priced at Rs. 5900. Considering the price of the regular air fillter (380 or so) I have decided to stay with the stock one

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Guys,

The shocks have started grumbling again. There is noise when I go over speed breakers from the rear (a sort of crunching sound). This happens only when there are three people seated in the rear. Also when I go over speedbreakers and road undulations the front suspension gives out a squeaking sound. The TAFE guys kept the car for a couple of days to trouble shoot. The rear problem seemed to have gone. But has reappeared. They did not fix the front shocks issue due to unavailability of spares.

Any ideas and pointers would help.

Regards,
lsjey

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

Guys,

Did my 5th service done yesterday after 39874 KMs. After giving the car for servicing received a call from the engineer later in the day that the front brake pads are worn out and need replacement.

Got it done as did not want to take chances but wondering is it normal for the pads to get worn out within 40K KMs. Has anyone else experienced this?

This is one issue that stays with the car I believe. I have got it replaced twice and its time to get it done the third time now! The service center promptly replaces whenever I complain about the front shocks making squeaking noise. Everytime they say "new set of bushes have arrived and we shall replace it".

I hope TATA motors do something thats a permanent fix.

amitwlele, I never thought it lasts that long! brake pads change at 40k kms is not bad at all. BTW is your horn problem sorted out now?

With 40K kms mark on the dashboard, can you please share with us how much you have spent on your car maintenance till date?

That sounded comforting. I thought the A.S.S was taking me for a ride.

Yes the horn problem has been rectified. Thanks for remembering my earlier post. My bad, i should have updated that as well in my earlier post.

All the invoices for the service are in the car. I would definitely post the Service costs as of now by end of this week.

Re: Indica Vista - list of Known problems

I own a month old Vista Quadra refresh Aqua,1500kms and first service done. After reading some posts on the new dampers for the front suspension,i have some queries regarding my Vista.

Mine also makes a tok tok sound every time i hit a pothole. It hasn't been rectified properly during 1st service.

I can hear some kind of a feeble cyclic scrapping noise from the engine bay or wheels during the second and third gear and its frequency increases as speed picks up.At 100kmph i can hear it as well & feel it a bit on my steering wheel.any idea what it could be?

The average is just about 12-13 in city conditions as of now.Any idea how long it might take to gauge the optimum efficiency?

I am not satisfied with the 1st service done. Even though tata people from pune and Concorde service,Chennai called and recorded my feedbacks, nothing much has happened after that.I was thinking that they might ask me to bring the car in again!
