re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

I was in the showroom after the price announcement, they have the brochures ready.
1. All variant's interior color themes are same (as per dealer, no mention in the brochure).

Few interesting questions from brochure:
Sat Nav is mentioned as an accessory also there is an option of HUD Navigation.
Does anyone have any information on this, is it an integrated sat nav option or is it an after market (dealer fitment?)

there is an option available titanium called "sunvisor- Driver and Passenger slide on rod". what is this?

payed booking amount, the booking form does not mention the pricing, since they are saying official pricing is still not available and may vary by the time the car comes is delivered (unlikely I imagine).

Picture below.

I want a black interior (and the AU blue exterior - which they are not offering here, why?), therefore holding off on ordering the 3.2 4x4 AT Titanium, although I might just put down a deposit to hold a car...

I think I would also like to TD the 2.2 vs. the 3.2 ATs as well.

No time anyway - up and away...

Endeavour comes with 8" touch screen, so what exactly is that 3.5" touch screen ?

It is quite possible that this is part of the HUD navigation system then because the display in the middle of the screenshot I have posted does not look like 3.5" to me at least. Any ways, I guess we'll only know the details once the showrooms start receiving the kits.

Like I said, need to do some more work to understand this huge difference !

Prem.
Well the equation just becomes a bit more complex as resale will take a hit now in NCR as they have reduced the life cycle of a diesel car to 10 years now. And in those 10 also, you might need to follow odd-even rule etc.

Happy with the pricing... Fortuner supremacy is challenged big time.
Toyota network will still beat the Fords but till the Fortuner refresh is launched enndy might rule the segment

Guys, it is HUD, or Heads Up Display that will reflect the navigation on the windshield. The ICE unit on the dash board has Navigation. Please do not get confused.

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

Really impressed with Ford's pricing!

My engine of choice is the 2.2, which is a much more modern engine, and has enough grunt to satisfy my needs. Honestly, considering how lazy, unintuitive and sipping that 6 speed Auto is, I would always go with the manual. Alas, the manual only comes with the base variant that comes without the much required Curtain Airbags. Perhaps Ford should've offered a Manual with the Titanium variant. I am not complaining, as I am sure i'm in the very few who have this choice.

Considering everything else, this Ford is sure to tear charts. For a car this class, I have a feeling its gonna go on long waiting periods, just like in the hay-days of the Fortuner and the EcoSport.

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

Was invited for the new endaevour's launch.
Impressed with the onroad pricing .
2.2litre with auto box in a 4×4 would have been an awesome option

Few observations/queries.
-All black interiors omitted.
-Keyless start omitted (definitely not cost cutting)
-steering wheel doesn't have reach adjustment.
-Flimsy rear centre armrest.
-middle row lacks under thigh support, also doesn't tumble for access to the last row
-long term reliability of the 3.2/2.2 litre engine vs that of the Fortuner's.

Short review of the 15km test drive:3.2 4×4 AT:
-Minimum body roll at high speeds
-Excellent cabin insulation (active nice cancellation).
-Decent braking.
-gobbles uneven roads and potholes with ease.
-gear up shifts area tad bit delayed.
-Fuel economy was 8 kmpl

Overall experience was better than a Fortuner

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

This is one beautiful SUV. The rear looks somewhat similar to the US spec Explorer.

While I agree with everyone the pricing is reasonable compared to the international version "Everest", the 2.2L 4x2 AT Titanium is priced only slightly lower than the more powerful and bigger CBU 4x2 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ. I understand the Trailblazer lacks airbags and few additional luxuries.

Looks like Chevrolet has missed a golden opportunity to be competitive with locally assembled variants of the Trailblazer.

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

For all those looking to buy the Everest as we know it, or Endeavor, the top end 3.2 4X4 is a bargain! Grab it before Ford decides to increase the prices. The Titanium version in Australia is $89k's and this is same amount of money as a mid spec Toyota LandCruiser LC200, Mid spec Land Rover Discovery HSE, Top End LandCruiser Prado, top spec Land Rover Discovery Sport and around 15k's more than Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, the top end trim! This is surely knock out pricing. Except may be reliability, the new Endeavor has it licked everywhere else. Good time to be a Ford buyer in India.

Edit: The Trend India variant comes even more loaded than the Aussie model and is cheaper too! Spec comparison for Australia

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

If this great pricing doesn't take Endeavour to a solid #2 behind the Fortuner, I don't know what will. And by a solid #2, I mean at least 500 units each month.

The vehicle is capable, loaded, desirable and the pricing is correct. So, its time for the market to put money where their mouth is and that is where it normally goes wrong. We have been here before with the 2014 Fiesta, Aspire and new Figo. I really hope Endeavour will be the one bucking that trend.

Coming back to the vehicle, the only thing I don't like is the fact that Ford is not giving us the option for black interiors. That looked gorgeous in the official preview and I thought Ford will offer it in the 3.2L variants at least. It is a miss since the Fortuner now offers lovely all black interiors. And the entire industry is kind of ditching beige and Ford hasn't thought through it well.

That said, the 3.2L variants are brilliantly priced. That was a bigger surprise. Had thought only the 2.2L variants will be aggressively priced to bring the customer into the showroom. If budget is sorted, then 3.2L Titanium is the variant to buy, its properly loaded and looks like a bargain.

Here is the official brochure. Ford Endeavour Brochure.PDF

And if Ford manages to get some solid bookings, I hope the supply chain is managed in a better way. Ford has managed to make some good progress here by keeping things transparent with the end customer once a car is booked. Let's hope that is maintained. Also, the price hikes (which is inevitable) should only be done once there are enough and more vehicles in the market.

Let's see how this goes. The segment just got a lot hotter.

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

Bang on Ford...this time again; the pricing and equipment list is impassive and confirms your interest in the Indian market.

- Make sure you deliver it quick and stay focused on Indian market atleast during the first 6 months so that the waiting period post bookings gets optimized.

- Stay transparent with customers on delivery schedules, make sure you have dedicated and trained personal at customer care for Endy enquiries

-Pricing, please stick to it for this FY? can you and lock pricing for people those who have booked in case you wish to increase the price quickly (don't be greedy)

All the best and hope to see you at #1 in this segment. The big T has been acting pricy with its offering in the segment.

Cheers !
