Well it's not just about the figure's lookout for 20-80kms in 3rd gear and 40-100kms in 4th gear timing. That was just go to show how good it is on acceleration part. And if not enough get a remap or pete's tuning box which would take it to 115bhp +
Also, Magnum is not 130 but 120bhp with 32kgm of torque.

Exactly, Linea has got one of the best rear legroom which is comparable to ANHC. The car gives a false idea because the front seats are capable of moving a lot towards back. It is purposefully given, since it gives a lot of room to the front seaters especially if the rear seats are not occupied. When the rear seats are occupied, the front seaters should just be considerate.

Keep the front seats maximum towards rear and measure the front leg room. You will surely get astonished. It even beats some cars which is thrice its price. And in that position, someone less that 5.5" height probably may not even depress the clutch to its full extent.

Try it out folks!!

Here is the tentative price list available at Wasan Motors for Linea (on road Mumbai indl & comp respectively) :-

Linea 1.4 Active Petrol - Rs. 693391 & Rs. 736791 resp.
Linea 1.4 Dynamic Petrol - Rs. 728752 & Rs. 774392 resp.
Linea 1.4 Dynamic Petrol (Option Pack) - Rs. 760799 & Rs. 808469 resp.
Linea 1.4 Emotion Petrol - Rs. 771849 & Rs. 820219 resp.
Linea 1.4 Emotion (Option Pack) - Rs. 805000 & Rs. 855470
Linea 1.3 MJet Active - Rs. 793950 & Rs. 843720
Linea 1.3 MJet Dynamic - Rs. 828206 & Rs. Rs. 880146
Linea 1.3 Mjet Dynamic (OPtion Pack) - Rs. 860253 & Rs. 914223
Linea 1.3 MJet Emotion - Rs. 871303 & Rs. 925973
Linea 1.3 MJet Emotion+ - Rs.932080 & Rs. 990600

Top end Petrol at 8.05L on road Mumbai is a fantastic deal IMO.
If the Mumbai on road price for "Linea 1.4 Emotion Petrol - Rs. 771849" is true, it is a shocker. Fiestas and Vernas (Logans?? - dont feel like even comparing) are sure to get body blows...

I feel its really good amongst fleet of integrated systems i have seen on other cars. but again there nothing for music enthusiast. You will have to get your set of Amp and subwoofer.

with that pricing Linea is clear winner, and will give SX4, Fiesta, Aveo and ANHC run for their money. Honda should learn how to price their vehicles

a. The Ride Quality? (low speeds, high speeds, over potholes)
Magnum shakes you a lot at low speed and on uneven road, but once you start flying there is no issue, i think same goes with Linea but Linea is slightly better than Magnum at low speed, but at high speed Magnum soaks everything. I did not try jumping the speed breaker in Linea but Magnum is worst in that at any speed.

b. Interior Quality (Switches, Plastics)?
I assume your only talking about Quality and not the looks and design, Magnum is superior in this section and Linea has better looks and design and styling

c. Rear Seating Space?
Magnum is spacious in rear as compared Linea and even Octavia.

d. Cabin noise?
I am fan of GM for kind of insulation levels they build in their cars even the UVA is great on this front, nonetheless Linea is upto the mark. but as I said in my TD post Engine can be prominently heard when you rev hard.

on road Mumbai indl & comp

Linea 1.4 Emotion (Option Pack) - Rs. 805000 & Rs. 855470

Linea 1.3 MJet Emotion+ - Rs.932080 & Rs. 990600
If those prices are official then WOW!!

From Honda's website the City 1.5S M/T Ex-Showroom price is Rs.8,46,900 while A/T is Rs. 9,19,000. We all know Honda's are overpriced in India but these prices show just how much Honda is milking the Indian customer.

Linea Petrol costs less with extra features like Blue&Me, Alloys, rear sunblind, ACC. Honda gives I-Vtec engine thats about it. How much would City 1.5S M/T be on road? Around Rs.9.30 lakhs? That's equal to Linea MJD! Still, the Linea, IMO, will never outsell the City but if Fiat play their marketing well they can surely put tremendous pressure on the City.

Fiat will have to pull off something really spectacular to flop the Linea in our market.

Unfortunately, FIAT has always been consistent in that

That was Fiat India, now it is Fiat-Tata, and there is lot of stakes for both the companies to do well in the Indian market.

I am optimistic they will do well, and we know things are really improving on the ground.

If FIAT can hold these prices irrespective of how the car does in 6-12 months and not do what Ford/GM do with most cars ( drop prices like crazy ) - I am sure there would THEN be more competition for the likes of HONDA ( who are getting away with the fact that resale value always far better and hence they load it up with lesser features )

Hi

Thanks for all the nice TD reports - other than the power and the head room, haven't seen anything negative on the car from the reports

Do we know when the Diesel version will be available for delivery?

Amit - City S M/T Ex-showroom in Bangalore is 8,17,900. I am quoting directly from the official Honda proforma invoice sent to me. I guess the website mentions old prices before the 4% deduction.

Still its pretty high as Linea multijet emotion+ is actually better loaded and diesel at 8.32 ex showroom.

Before excise duty cut, it was 8.38L ex-showroom. OTR was 9.92L (from Magnum Honda)

I did inquire with Concorde Motors, Mysore Road today on the Linea. They told me that they have the test drive vehicle ready. Tomorrow, they are off due to Sankranti. So, I guess I will have to test drive either on Saturday or Sunday (they confirmed that they are open on Sunday).
