15" wheels currently cost around 4-4.5k per piece (depending on brand/design/finish etc.) so that's going to be around 16-18k for 4. And 195/50 R15 tyres are going to cost you around 4.2k or so per tyre so that another 16-17k.

Ride should be pretty olerale on 15" unless the roads you travel on are absolutely pathetic.
Raghava, sorry for the text in bold man. Was trying to write it below your post but got a warning that post is too small.

Well coming to the point - looks like its better to stick to 195/60-14 michelin XM1+.
Any other tires you recommend?

No problem. You can also look at Michelin PP2's if you're looking for performance tyres. But they'll cost around 4.2-4.5k per piece.

What is the life of PP2's (approx)?

If i am going for PP2's then it should be 195/50-15 as 195/60-14 is available in PP1.

I am thinking of 205/50-15 Michelin XM1+. Is it available?

EDIT: I am trying to view Michelin website but combo-boxes don't work in Safari.

PS - I have made up my mind finally. I am booking GetzD tomorrow.

Nope but that size is available in PP2's/BFG's/Yoko S-Drives. But, I think there is a possibility that 205's in that rim size might foul with the rear arches. KP, you got any info on this?

Thanks Raghav.

BHPian vittalnrv is using 205/50-15 s on his petrol Getz, so I am hoping that this size will work.

If I stay with 14" wheels then I am thinking of not going for alloys and just upgrading tires. Saved money can be spent to get Pete's box

Ishan
AFAIK In getz 205/45-16 doesn't touch anywhere which makes me assume that 205/50-15 also shouldn't touch. Right??

Offset of the alloys will also have a key role when upsizing to 205. Negative offset alloy is a strict NO-NO.

Alloy offset should be same or within 5mm of the stock offset right?
I need to check the stock offset of Getz. I think Getz PCD is 100.

Is there anything else that I need to consider while shopping for alloys?

Don't get alloys wider than 6j.

Any specific reason KP?

I went to a tier dealer today. He offered Rs.2400 each for the stock tires but quoted ~6k each for 205/50-15 PP2s. Is this the right price?

I think the PP2 price is a bit too high, will confirm & post tomorrow. And regard the 6J thing, wider rims will increase the chances of you rims scraping the arches & also alter the ride/handling balance.

Thanks Ishan.
Really appreciate yours and kpzen's support.

I don't wan't to go overbord with rim size. I will stick with 6J size.

The tyre deal is working out to be quiet expensive. 6000-2400=3600/tyre= 14400 for 4 tyres + ~20K for 15" alloys = ~ 35K. I was thinking more like 25K-30K.

205/50-15 PP2 should be around 5k per tyre. 6k is just too much..

Have u confirmed from vittalnv if 295/50-15 works fine in a Getz without any spacers?

Man 295/50 on Getz

I guess you meant 205/50

vittalnv has confirmed(in some other post) that 205/50-15 does not touch anywhere and steering is pretty ok.
