ram,

Sorry for creating confusion to you about 5/5/5 J. You talked to me when I was family gathering and I did that mistake

Anyway, our King of this section kpzen has resolved it(or proved his line are like Gospel).

My ride is has little roughed up by 10-15% as I am using ER60-Touranza-
This comment based on hard landing I feel(or hear) at the rear at the road bumps or rough roads.
I never sat on rear of my car to validate this claim.
Since you can really really trust kpzen, buy what he suggest based on our requirement. he suggested to go for Michelin energy XM1 for city usage and for better ride quality.

cheers
anju

195/60 R14 is just great for this car.

195/50-15 is a perfect 15" upsize for Getz.

Zenopio.
Getz is looking super hot. Get the door handles and mirrors painted in white..

In case u need to be even more sure then pm vid6639 who has also personally checked the rim sizes.
You are right. 14" OEM alloys in my getz 1.3 GLX is 5.5j.

Last week, based on the comments on this thread, I replaced my stock, 3.5 year odl, 175/65/R14 GoodYears with 195/60/R14 Michelin XM1s. I stuck with the stock alloys.

My old tires were in pretty bad shape so the difference was immediate, but the stability and general composure of the tires impressed me on my Pune-Mumbai-Pune trip over the weekend.

I bought the tires at Lokmanya Tyres, just off Karve Road. I am VERY impressed with their service. I got the tires on Tuesday, on Saturday I noticed the left front tire pressure was low so I swapped it out with the spare before I left for Mumbai. Today I went back to Lokmanya, he determined that the valve was not fitting correctly because of deposits on the inside of the rim, without prompting, he immediately removed all the tires, put in new valves and rebalanced them, at no charge. I felt the alignment was a bit off, so he had that redone as well.

I join the chorus of people recommending these tires for the Getz.

PS. I paid 19,400 for 5 tires, balancing, alignment and 'nitrogen'

What is nitrogen you are talking about? Filling nitrogen gas?
What are the advantages?

The benefits are debatable. I am not a strong believer in the 'nitrogen' story.

I didn't really want him to fill nitrogen, but he included it as part of the deal and would not reduce the price if I opted for regular air.

Friends,
I will be getting my Getz CRDi delivered in the last week(mostly) of this month.
I am going in for new tires and alloys and need your help.

Requirements;
Good ride and handling, improved cornering than stock tires, car should not drift on speeds at around 100KMPH on slight turns.
Finally they should last for atleast 30K KM.

I have a total budget between 25 to 30K for tires+alloys.

Currently i have 195/60-14 Michelin XM1+ and 195/50-15 Yoko S-drive in my mind.

One of my friend has Yoko S-drive in his viva crdi and he recommened me for same and he said that ride quality has improved and handling is amazing than the stock tires.

Any other tires i missed?

15" wheels & tyres in 30k might be a little tight depending on what you choose.

As for the tyres, XM1+ is comfort based while S-drives are performance based, decide what you want more & buy accordingly.

I will be exchanging current tires which will fetch me around 1500 per tire.

Do you think the ride quality will reduce drastically with S-drives compared to OE tires?

Djay - No need to post your queries in bold, I can read very well as is, thank you.

15" wheels currently cost around 4-4.5k per piece (depending on brand/design/finish etc.) so that's going to be around 16-18k for 4. And 195/50 R15 tyres are going to cost you around 4.2k or so per tyre so that another 16-17k.

Ride should be pretty olerale on 15" unless the roads you travel on are absolutely pathetic.
