The dealer is assuming the rim of the wheels to be 5J(as petrol Getz is) but its 5.5J, you dont need to go for new set of wheels to mount 195. Also i would suggest if you go for alloys go for 6J rims & not 5.5J

Any additions for the price ?

At the time I had booked (then cancelled) we had received an invoice in Nov07 for some 6.64 or something in that range. Had thought prices would drop by Feb08.

Insider info was for a massive price increase on the Getz CRDi, surprised to see it's only 13k.

No extra for the extra price. Just a price hike

Tyres

Guys,

One more doubt.
what is the main difference between Michelin Energy XM1+ and Michelin Energy XM1.
In site it says that this lasts longer (25% extra)

whats the price difference between the two and is it worth spending that extra for Michelin Energy XM1+??

pls advice..

regards
binoy

TBHP members in Chennai, please help. Which is a dependable place to get the XM1+ or XM1 tires and exchange the old ones?

195/60/R14 if rim is 5.5 or else 185/60/R14 if steel rim is 5. I asked anju (Kencha owner) and he said standard rims were 5 J .

Ideally I would like to avoid the expense of alloys If I can.

Here's the proof (i had posted earlier) that 14" getz wheels are indeed 5.5j..
In case u need to be even more sure then pm vid6639 who has also personally checked the rim sizes.

lol. I agree with Kpzen. I went to the Hyundai service centre and have seen the same sizes as Kp mentions on the cars there. For the GLS model it had wheel caps so I made the service advisor remove some other car's stepney to see the rim size.

All this research was a revelation for the hyundai guys who were selling spare rims by colour. Sir you want silver one or white one.

Petrol GVS - 13X4.5J
Petrol GLS - 13X5J
Diesel GVS - 14X5.5J

I found out later that if u just check the recommended air pressure sticker when u open driver's door there's a sticker which clearly shows different rim sizes and their various air pressures..

Dang, I think it's time to sleep. I meant black rim. lol.

Haven't taken the car out on the highway but in the city seems fine. The ride is really nice and plush with the XM1's and no road noise at all.
