The car in the first picture looks like a 49 Buick.

The 2 door convertible in the last picture looks like a 47/49 Studebaker.

And a short while ago you posted Nehru standing in an American convertible, look at the windscreen - unmistakably Studebaker of the same period. Even the quarter windows match, and maybe the colour in this b&w photo. Possibly the same car?

That is one of the palaces in Kerala (the dressing style of people seen around is a sure sign). Just can't place which one. May be Travancore can

The Elephants (pic) hind legs that is seen in the pic posted by Karl (I think) is part of the Satate Emblem of Kerala with 2 elephants

Best Regards & Drive Safe

When Karl asked me where this picture could have possibly been taken, I guessed it must have been in Kerala. Reason being all pictures before and after these palace pictures had Kerala's famous boat races in them.

Thanks for reaffirming my guess

I believe the building is what used to be the Travancore State Guest House (now the Raj Bhavan).

The current Guest House used to be the Residency then.

I believe the pictures were taken in 1950, when both Nehru and Rajaji visited within a few months.

If you enlarge the Guest House picture, I believe there a a Mercedes hiding beneath the arch too. This could be a Cochin car, I had posted that somewhere a long time ago (shown with the Nethiyaramma / Consort of the Maharaja)

I found out that this picture dates to May 1950 when Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was in Trivandrum guest house to address a meeting of Congress workers.

This picture was captured in New Delhi ,1952, though the car is only partially seen, can we still identify it?

That should be a Riley RM series - I think they were offered as 1.5 and 2.5 litres. They had a vinyl roof covering, looked very upmarket.
