About 4 years back, there was a collection of 12 cars for sale in Guwahti that had a 1937/8 Morgan and a 1932/3 MG SA. I tried to purchase the MG but the whole collection went down to a DR. in Bangalore I was told.

I saw this MG SA in Columbus Ohio when we went down to and All Brits Car Meet with our 1968 MK11-340. The SA came out just before the SS-1 and for my money (which i couldn't spend} it walks circles around the SS-1.

Any one seen or heard of It.

That lot went to Delhi and on to Bangalore. There was also a Jag Mark VII in that lot. These 3 are almost restored.

Cheers harit

The car is not a TF but a TD probably 1951.The TF had the headlamps mounted into the fendors, fendors were broader and had a slanting grill. Some things according to this picture don't look original for this car-

1) Seats
2) Parking lights
3) Orange Lights under the fender.
4) Wired wheels normally didn't come on the TD but they might be an addon feature (not think it is original).

The first pic is of a TF and the others are of the TD so that we can make out the difference.

If I'm not mistaken, APF 48 is an MG TD replica, made by a Malaysian company called TD Cars and called the TD2000, or something like that, from the late '90s!!

That was spot on! I have never heard of this car before but I must say the company has managed to make a good replica. But one thing which didn't make sense is the reg number. Can anyone shed some light on that please.

I don't think this car is from the nineties or is a replica as the APF reg was not current then and the picture is pretty old.

It is probably a TD with non standard rims.

AAQ bein Hyderabad was actually meant to be AP reg

That's strange.Apart from the wired wheels the seats and the bar above the seats is also something which came with the TD 2000 and even the orange lights under the fendors.Compare the attached pic with the original TD pics put up and compare it with the pic you put up.

Although the parking lights are wrong if it is a TD2000 and the lenses are wrong if it is a TD.

But we definately need to solve the mystry about the registration.

Wasif bhai,

Two things as circled in the picture suggest it's not an original but replica.

1. Side repeater light.

2. Front square direction indicators.

Both of which are there in TD 2000 and not in Original MG.

we need some input from those who have actually seen the car.

The fact of teh matter is if it is a nineties import it cant have that APF regestration and the other thing is it was very very difficult if not impossible to import cars in those days let alone replicas
